Day 1 - Book you are reading right now Day 2 - The book you want to read next Day 3 - Your favourite book
I used to know what my favourite book was. However, I'm very bad at having a favourite anything. As I've grown up I've gone through various books, many of which I still cherish.
Ever since I was about 10 I've adored the story of The Silver Sword by Ian Serraillier. From reading it in school I'll always remember my teacher reading passages and explaining certain things we didn't quite understand. I haven't liked all of the books I read in school, but that was one I did.
Then there is the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants series by Ann Brashares. All five books in the series have left with me with such strong emotions that I always always hold them dear.
Since then I've grown up and my tastes, though haven't changed, have progressed into adult fiction. Going back to the historical fiction of the world wars I arrive at two books which I now know are in my top ten. Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay was one of the most emotional stories I have ever read, I bought it in Washington DC and finished reading it in a minibus travelling around New England. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this book and the subsequent, very well made, film.
To top it off is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, finished just last week and when I closed the book after reading the last page, all I could think about was that the book was my favourite book ever. Thinking about it a little further I realise it probably isn't number one, not on its own anyway.
