My husband just reminded me of the 2005 movie "Everything is Illuminated." I loved it, and the book, and he reminded me that it was set in Ukraine. Remember that field of sunflowers? I'm not sure how to punctuate "happy new year" -- should it be with an exclamation mark, or a question mark? Let's hope for the exclamation mark!

Not that infection
My poor Webster hasn't been feeling well for a while and finally saw his doctor who, after blood and urine tests, discovered he has a urinary tract infection. No wonder he feels so poorly. Yesterday was his first day on an antibiotic so I hope he feels better soon. Poor fella.

Hello! We are having beautiful weather these days -- highs in the upper 60s/15s and lower 70s/20s, and the sky has been incredibly blue. This part of the world often has shitty air quality but lately it's been clear as the proverbial bell. I like to sit out back and stare up into the blue, blue sky.

Misc
My poor Webster had his first break-through migraine since he started using Aimovig nearly six months ago. On one hand, first one! But on the other, he was miserable for four full days. He is just starting to feel better so my fingers are crossed that he's back to usual tomorrow.

The day after
Well, the US had another Thanksgiving and at least here it was very nice, though of course quiet since we are living among maniacs and remain as locked down as we can be. We FaceTimed with my sister and her wife, which was great. It might sound lonely or weird, but I had a good day.

Ukulele and stuff
Today was a big day for me -- the instructor of the Zoom ukulele classes I take likes to have a monthly "open mic," which of course isn't really open because you can only have one microphone going in Zoom for music. We've tried singing together in Zoom but everybody's computer has a different latency so . . . But!

98 and hello
Hello dear friends. Today would have been my mother's 98th birthday. Happy birthday! I still miss her so much that at times it physically hurts. Although she would have disapproved, we went out and washed her and Dad's headstones and then I poured a libation of Jack Daniels over Dad's and a good tot of gin over Mother's. A start date
Well, at last we have a start date for the remodel: Monday, August 2. As soon as the contractor confirmed it, I jumped on AirBnB and VRBO and found a house just a few blocks from where we live and rented it for three weeks.
