We felt the same way about names and my parents are all fussy that we won't tell them the names or the sex (they still don't believe that we don't know what the baby is!). Once they meet baby so-and-so, they'll love the name no matter what.
We thought about keeping the sex a secret as well, but we decided on finding out the sex for me more than anything else. I need to think about things for awhile before doing them, so I figured if I could keep the overwhelming details down on the day of the birth, I'd probably be happier. That's just me, though. :)
I really just want this baby out so I can finally know if it's a boy or girl already! I could've gone either way with knowing or not but my husband loved the idea of not knowing. Considering he brought it up all on his own before we even talked about kids, I thought it was sweet so I went along with not knowing. Now, if only people actually believed that we didn't know haha
I've posted on here about names and told my best friend, but not my mom. My mom was all weird about the name I picked for my first daughter and I really don't need the grief this time around. Her mouth said, "She thought it was nice." Her face said that is the most awful name I've ever heard. And when I said, "I'm not telling you till she's born." She said, "I loved Sadie's name." Uh huh. I figure if there's a cute baby face to go with the name, they'll all love it. :)
