Chapter 53 - Keep Calm, Don't Panic! Yunho kicked as high as his long legs reached and immediately after that bended at his waist to strike Siwon’s stomach with all his might before using his other hand to punch the man’s chin. The blows sent the lawyer to the floor where he stayed for a few seconds, panting loudly.
In those seconds, Yunho gave in to the urge to make sure with his own eyes that Jaejoong was really safe and unharmed. The business man’s eyes were huge with fear and glued to Siwon’s every move. Yunho sighed and was about to return his attention to the fallen man on the floor ready to end the fight, when Taemin screamed.
-Gun!
Seeing Siwon twist his body out of Yunho’s reach to grab a gun and pointing it at the cop, Jaejoong didn’t hesitate. He made sure to aim the gun and fired.
…
Yunho thought he was about to die when he saw Siwon pointing a gun at him. He barely had time to think about avoiding the shot before he saw the flash of gun powder and heard that familiar sound. The cop couldn’t move fast enough.
…
A sharp pain hit him in his belly. As he fell to the floor, Yunho was still unable to process that the shot had hit him in the bullet proof vest. He tried to clear his mind. Siwon would probably fire again. And why had he heard three shots?
…
Mr. Jung screamed in the control room. On the other side of the phone, Changmin pressed the accelerator even more, he could barely see the road anymore.
-What is it? - Screamed Junsu and Yoochun.
-Siwon got a gun, he fired at Yunho. Jaejoong shot him but he’s… Oh, God, he’s getting up…
…
Jaejoong kept his gun raised and aimed at Siwon, ready to fire again if necessary. However his eyes flew over to Yunho. The cop seemed about to faint but held in there, clutching his stomach with a pained expression. The second Jaejoong remembered the tall man was wearing a bullet proof vest he turned his attention back to Siwon.
It was only when he looked more closely at Siwon that Jaejoog noticed the man had two bullet wounds. “But Yunho didn’t have a gun. How…?”
Siwon growled in anger and pain. He kicked Yunho who was within his reach at the same time he fired right at Jaejoong this time. The business man rolled on the floor to escape the shot and managed to still fire his gun.
Yunho shook his head again. He kept hearing three shots. Fighting the pain, he got up and jumped on Siwon who now had his back to him. The lawyer was powered by anger alone but it was more than enough; he reacted as if Yunho’s weight was nothing, sending his elbow into the cop’s stomach. Yunho bended at the waist and his knees fell to the floor, unable to breathe.
Seizing the opportunity that Siwon was distracted by Yunho, Jaejoong applied a high kick directed at the lawyers head and then tried to get the gun off his hands. Caught unaware, Siwon wavered under the blow and tried to fire at Jaejoong again, as if they weren’t fighting for control of the gun. Before Siwon was able to pull the trigger, Yunho pushed the man’s legs and made him lose his balance. Jaejoong freed the gun from Siwon’s fingers and kicked him in his stomach with all his built up adrenaline.
…
Changmin finally crossed the gates into the mansion and blindly sped up the car to the house.
…
As the lawyer ended up on his knees from the strength of Jaejoong’s hit, Yunho punched him with a growl of rage. And again. And again. Yunho kept punching Siwon until his hands came out bloody and the lawyer was unconscious. The cop managed to stop after a while, his breathing out of control and his eyes still looking slightly mad with fury.
Jaejoong had one gun in each hand, pointing both of them at Siwon. His adrenaline was still pumping in his veins and he feared that Siwon could get up at any second.
-Is he dead? - Taemin asked.
The scared voice broke Jaejoong out of his haze. He looked at Taemin and then looked at himself, staring at the two guns as if he didn’t know how they ended up in his hands. He put the safety on them and then pushed them on his trousers belt. With a deep breath to try and calm down, Jaejoong backed away from Siwon’s limp body.
Yunho stared at Siwon a while longer, wondering if this was it, if it was really over. Then the other sounds in the room reached his brain: Jaejoong’s heavy breathing and Taemin crying. He was sure that the boy was only scared but he had no idea if Jaejoong was hurt or not.
…
The cop got up with surprising speed and moved to touch Jaejoong and make sure that he was ok. Surprised, the business man backed away from Yunho. He was still trying to process what had just happened and his last image of Yunho had been the tall man dominated by uncontrolled rage. The second the cop looked up to meet a pair of scared eyes and noticed how Jaejoong’s entire body shrunk away from him, Yunho froze.
They stared at each other in uncomfortable silence.
Yunho bite his inner cheeks and turned as fast as he could to go check on Taemin instead.
Jaejoong tried to order his hand to grab Yunho. It didn’t move. He tried to call the cop’s name. His lips didn’t move.
…
When Yunho reached Taemin he finally understood why he kept hearing three shots. The boy was holding a gun.
-Did you fire this?
-H-he…He was going to kill us. Did I kill him?
-No, he’s just unconscious. He’s not dead. He’s going to go to jail and I’ll make sure they lose the key to his cell. You’re safe now. For real. Let’s get you out of these, ok?
Taemin nodded silently at the cop. He held the gun as if pleading the other man to take it out of his hands. Yunho picked the gun up, put the safety on and stored it in his belt; then he focused on releasing Taemin from the chains. Suddenly, it finally dawned on him where he was and what these chains were. Unpleasant memories tried to flood his memory but Yunho blocked them.
When the kid was free, he raced to hug Jaejoong, whispering “thank you”.
Jaejoong had still been standing in the exact same spot, as if his eyes were lost someplace else. But he was quick to hug Taemin back and to try and comfort the young boy.
Yunho used the chains to wrap them around Siwon. He had no intention of running any risks that the man could wake up and cause any more havoc. The lawyer had four bullet wounds, scattered around his body, none of them life threatening. Obviously both Jaejoong and Taemin had managed to hit the man. When he finished he stood up and looked in Jaejoong’s direction. The business man returned his look with a wary expression, as if he suddenly didn’t know how to act around the cop.
Unable to endure the awkward atmosphere, Yunho silently left the room.
…
As soon as the bodyguards enter the house, they find Yunho slowly walking down the stairs. He simply points upstairs. Mr. Jung arrives the same instant. Changmin, Yoochun and Jun Ki immediately go check on Jaejoong, while Eric and Donghae check on Mr. Jung first. Junsu stays behind to talk with Yunho, worried about the man’s distressed face.
-What is it, Yunho? What happened?
-If you go up and Jaejoong allows you guys to hug him, please don’t tell me. I don’t think I want to be the only one from whom he wants distance right now.
Yunho dejectedly walked outside, giving no more explanations. Junsu and Mr. Jung stared after the tall man before exchanging puzzled looks. Eric and Donghae had already went upstairs to check on Jaejoong themselves. The old man looked at Junsu and thought it was more than enough time that he should satisfy his curiosity.
-Junsu, the first time those two had sex, how did that come about?
Caught off guard with Yunho’s father’s question, Junsu kept silent, unsure of how to answer.
-Come on, give me some credit, young man. You know I can help. And I like Jaejoong a lot, I think he’s good for Yunho. Those two… sometimes they just act around each other like they carry the world’s entire luggage. Just now, like Yunho said, Jaejoong backed away from him. As if he was scared Yunho would hurt him. And then when my son walked away to check on Taemin, Jaejoong looked as if he had just accidentally killed a puppy.
-You won’t change your mind?
-I’m pretty sure they messed up big time, didn’t they?
-Yes, they both did. And we could have prevented Jaejoong’s side of the mess, but we didn’t. I’m sorry for that. Ok… You know how Yunho thought that Jae was guilty of Ren’s attack and Taemin’s disappearance? Even suspected both boys might be dead?
Mr. Jung nodded yes.
-That thug, the one who threatened him, said Ren was dead and made my son fearful for Taemin. Yunho has a short fuse. He is very calm and controlled but when he loses it, he really does lose it. Exactly what did he do to Jaejoong when he broke into this house?
-He started with hitting Jae but ended up trying to rape him as payback for what he thought Jae had done to the boys.
-What? That makes no sense.
-I think he might also have been a bit angry of finding himself attracted to Jae. He pretty much admitted that to me some time ago.

Flashback
(…)
Junsu signalled the chained man to follow him. In the corridor, Junsu threw the taller man against a wall with a menacing look. He stood with his hands on his hips while the other man tried not to glare back.
-Talk. What is the deal with you?
-What do you mean?
-Why did you came into this house Friday night?
-I told already. I was hired to scare your boss. Rough him up a bit.
Junsu approached and with a mean grip, cupped Yunho’s genitals through the sweat pants and twisted hard.
-Stop! - Yunho whined in pain.
The tall man pushed the shorter one to free himself. Junsu let go slowly and stepped back.
-Then why did we practically found you with your pants down?
Yunho bit his lips and looked away. With a sigh, he decided a little truth was probably the best way.
-Jaejoong is… I-I got… I didn’t mean to… - He stammered and paused.
-You think he’s a fine piece of ass and you got the hots for him. Got that. A question of opportunity then?
-Look here. I’m not some sick rapist! I just… I got carried away. And…
-Why don’t you say who hired you?
-I don’t know who hired me!
-Who are you?
-My name is Yunho. That is all I’m going to say about that.

End of flashback
…
-Ok, now that… - Mr. Jung sighed. -That strangely does sound exactly like my Yunho. I still remember when me and my wife kept getting called to the school cause Yunho was constantly fighting with another kid. When my wife finally managed to pull out of him what was going on, we found out he was confused cause he had realised he liked that kid, in a different way than how he liked his other friends. That bright head decided to punish the kid, blaming him for his confusion, which is why he kept lashing out at him. Yunho sulked and pouted at us for about a month after we explained to him what was really going on.
Mr. Jung chuckled at the memories.
-My son was not happy to find he “liked” that kid. Still, I think the kid turned out to be his first kiss and I’m pretty sure Yunho stole it. He did showed up with a suspicious black eye that he never confessed how he got. Ah, Yunho, Yunho. Sometimes, I swear he’s still a little boy, despite his height and muscles. Ok, that also explains why Jaejoong wanted to beat my son into a pulp at the gym the other day. But… you asked me if I would hate your boss?
-Jae managed to fight back until we arrived. But then he kicked us out and we left him alone with an unknown man who, as far as we knew, had just tried raping him, maybe kill him. And you have to remember that Jae was… is traumatized with what happened to Ren and has escaped a few kill attempts from the mafia as well…
-Ok, ok… Stop explaining. I get the picture. Yunho’s bruises are starting to make a lot more sense now, especially the obvious bite marks he had. Matching one’s with Jaejoong. Those bloody stupid short fuse fools. Idiots! Of all the things to do… I knew I should have just said Yunho was a cop a lot sooner. The damn stubborn fool practically waited until you guys had already found out.
-Well, yes. He confessed to Jae just when we were about to tell it ourselves.
-You seem to know Jaejoong the best. Do you think he realises he likes my son?
-No, not really. I’m pretty sure he’s still too confused with how they met and all the stressful entire messed up situation with Siwon, Ren, Taemin, the mafia… He may have started to realise something, I mean, he was just too bloody happy when they made up but… Oh, God! Whatever Siwon just did may have sent Jae back to square one. He was pretty fucked up when Ren was attacked. If he is anything like that now, it’s going to take weeks, at least, for Jae to start behaving like himself again. Do you think Yunho knows he likes Jae? He seems to be more aware of his own feelings?
-Not exactly. He’s honest about feeling attracted, and for sure he has started to like Jae as a person, but I fear that will be as far as he got. Yunho can be a little obtuse at times. He’s always too careful when he starts to like someone. The way he is with your boss is the least careful I’ve ever seen him act. Why do I have the feeling it might be my son to get his heart broken in this mess?
-Jae is broken too. If Yunho fixed him before, he’ll be able to do it again.
-That is not how it’s supposed to work, Junsu. Yunho is capable of supporting himself; and he will never love and respect Jaejoong properly, if Jaejoong isn’t capable of doing the same.
-He is. He will just need time.
-Then, at this point, all we can do is advise them and allow them that time. Hopefully, at the end, they will sort things out themselves.
Junsu just sighed, recognizing the wisdom in the old man’s words. The young man kept his fingers cross as he went upstairs to check on his friend.
…
Outside, Yunho managed to give a smile at Jung Il Woo and Lee Min Ho who were just rushing in as well.
-I hear a lot of sirens. Are you guys gonna throw a party here? - Asked Yunho.
-More cops and a few ambulances. But I guess you must have took care of everything already and the cops are just for clean-up duty. - Answered Il Woo.
-Yeahhh, you know I’m good that way. I was just about to call you guys. The bad guys are dead but I think only one of the guards is for sure. The others are injured, more or less severely. Heck, even Siwon needs an ambulance. He’s upstairs. And the security cameras have a backup system that records things for a certain amount of time. You can get the entire movie on dvd, ready to hand in to a jury.
-That’s a relief. With Taemin’s testimony and the security footage, not even his smart lawyer ass will get him out of jail.
-No, everything is finally over. Everything is over.
Il Woo and Min Ho looked strangely at Yunho’s tired and sad expression. Their friend seemed to be talking about more than just the mess with Choi Siwon.

Chapter 55 - After The Adrenaline,
...............................................................................................................
I tried posting this and next chapter in one go but LJ told me it was too big. Eh, how about that? First time that happens to me, usually my chapters are rather small. Anyway, since I already had everything prepared I was "to hell with it" and just posted two chapters instead of saving one to post tomorrow.
