So, I just finished the SPN season finale and I ....really liked it? Looking at a few reactions on my flist it seems that it was received with mixed feelings. Why is that you are often more able to enjoy things you aren't that much emotionally invested in? The more you care the more critical you seem to get. Or perhaps that's just me

I was really prepare to ignore this movie basing on the synopses (and Milo's haircut *cough*) but this teaser is really, really well done and I'm intrigued despite myself. Okay, and yeah, Milo looks hot.

Hey, sorry I've been a stranger lately. I just... couldn't really cope with the internet. I'm that pathetic over a show. But thanks for linking to that post! I would have missed it otherwise and I never do hate heartwarming cast suff. :)

Besides, Milo is still on my shit list for shaving all his hair off and sporting that horrible buzz-cut. Doesn't he look like your friendly neighborhood zombie?

He does! Or possibly like a refugee from 300. I'm actually surprised that more parts don't emphasize the angles of his face like this. It's a good way to easily produce menace in a character. It's actually sort of a surprise to me how often he plays woobies, given that his looks lend themselves directly to sort of feral, hard edged characters.

ETA: I totally forgot half my comment! About enjoying things you don't love more, I'm sometimes like that. I wouldn't say I'm actually less critical, it's just that criticizing doesn't hurt. True, they haven't used the possibilities of his face nearly enough in his past works.

His face plus the fact that he actually does do predatory and vicious well... strangely underused. I would have expected a sharp, skinny young guy would be the perfect pick for mean little underworld thug or something similar (ohhh, assassin!), but most of Milo's parts were "bad boy with a heart of gold." Strange.

I also read that most of the cast has signed up to lose weight throughout the shooting, so they can visualize the malnutrition and radiation process. If he is among them, the angles on his face will become even sharper.

There are quite a few shows I enjoy watching without caring too much and don't feel the urge to get involved in fandomYeah, I have a number of those. Argh, no! But don't worry, I doubt they'll lose so much weight within 31 days (that's the amount of shooting days they have). That's probably also the reason they are shooting in sequence and increases the chances some of them might actually go bald by the end of it.

Having TV that's watchable is nice, but I just like having a fandom. I like engaging on that level. I'm not sure I'm really capable of being in fandom without being hopelessly invested.

Oh I know and I agree. Right now I find it hard to imagine being equally obsessed with something else, though. :/

Oh that is so true. I had mixed thoughts of the finale but I think that was because I was so involved with all the characters and just didn't seem to think that some things fit them. but if you look at it from a non crazy fan pov, it was well written, they did wrap things up well yet leaving everything open for next season :)

Oh god, those farewells :( Jack's is the most heartbreaking, I agree... Has Hayden said anything about the cancellation yet? I didn't see her name on the blog, or maybe I missed it...

It's really unfair. Being hopelessly invested in a show and its characters does seem to make it harder to enjoy it. Or easier to get disappointed.

But tell me, I heard that Kripke stepped back as exec. producer after this season. Will he still be part of the show or are other writers taking the lead now?

Jack is so charming and eloquent and his goodbye was incredibly moving. I always enjoyed his blog on TWOP too. :( I haven't heard anything from Hayden yet either - only that she is rumored to have signed onto Scream 4.

I actually wasn't aware of that fact D: I don't know how the season is going to play out but I have faith in SPN writers because thus far, they've been pretty awesome, a few minor things aside.

I DO know that the sixth season is supposed to focus mainly on the brothers relationship. I'm excited to see whatever they do with it...

Jack's farewell was the first thing that made me seriously weepy about the end of the show. I don't know, I was kind of like still not over Nathan's death (ahhhh I don't think I will ever get over that) and then there's this, and yesterday I was just thinking, and my thoughts drifted to S5, and then I realized there would be no S5. And I got all emo. :/

I'm surprised they don't have an American distributor for the film! Production values look kind of wicked though. Very in the vein of the type horror/suspense movies I always watch and enjoy. I'm also surprised he's not the lead? He should be, he's Milo Ventimiglia! Oh hey though, there's Terminator's Michael Beihn, nice!

Okay, now you have done it! For the first time I can't tell you apart. Caps make me think of Andrea, but isn't cm the one that loves horror movies?

I do hope they find an American (and German and Australian and Canadian...) distributor, so we have a chance to see it, if it's any good. I was surprised how good the production values looked too. Let's hope the limited set gives them the possibility to go wild with cinematography and make up.

Michael Beihn seems to be the biggest name of the cast, though I don't know any of them except for Milo. That doesn't have to be the case for the general public though. I did notice however, that he is billed first now (as opposed to last week) on imdb but that doesn't mean he will be in the credits.

Also, I tweaked the icon a little bit more since I was half asleep when I made it last night. Feel free to snag the new version I'm using, if you like it better.

Yeah, I'd hate to see it end up in no-man's land, the way some films end up. I mean I doubt it'll come to Singapore theaters, but hey so long as it shows up in DVD format somewhere, I am good.
