Trowa's visit to Quatre's home is about halfway through. It's been a good week. (And, thanks to spending several of Quatre's workdays hanging out at the local university, Trowa now has much more detailed mental notes on how to successfully pass as a college student. Yes, low-stakes infiltration practice is Trowa's idea of a vacation

She may also be using this as an opportunity to practice passing unnoticed through a crowd.

Though she is careful to spend a moment or two in Trowa's peripheral vision first.

It is only considerate.

Trowa appreciates the courtesy.

Even if he shows no sign. (Nor any sign of seeing X at all. That's also only courtesy, right?)

At least, until they reach the gym.

And once inside the gym, X flicks a quick glance between Trowa and the weights.

Call it a question.

Trowa's own glance slides over the mats, pauses for an instant on the single bar, and moves on to the tightrope.

Then: "I'm visiting Quatre."

So.

Workout space is -- not more limited, exactly, in the Winners' huge house, but less easily tailored to circus acrobatics than usual.

Cass sees him enter the bar. Cass sees his little exchange. Cass oh so sneakily follows him to the gym.

He doesn't notice her, of course. She is being sneaky.

Like, on tip-toes and a manic grin and everything.

Gosh.

However could he possibly notice that?

Trowa oh-so-sneakily . . . detours to the men's room on the way!

Jeans and a turtleneck are not good workout wear. Time to change to the loose pants and tank top he got from Bar.

Cass darts her eyes both ways as he steps inside. Seeing that the coast is clear, she darts (silently) through behind him before the door can swing closed. She takes too long steps before dropping into a low slide that takes her under the vision line of the mirror and into one of the bathroom stalls.

Still unnoticed!

Because she's super-stealthy. And Trowa never pays attention to anything.

. . . Really, Cass?

Well. Valid if totally unnecessary practice for sneaking around, he supposes.

NOT THAT HE NOTICED HER, OR ANYTHING.

Trowa opts for an empty stall several doors down, thank you, and a quick change. (Backstage changes between acts make you really good at that.)

Cathy is sitting crosslegged by the far wall, near the tightrope, when he walks in. She's drinking from a bottle of water.

She's not winded, but she's clearly taking a break from some practice she's already done, and waves a hand at Trowa as she sips.

Hey, sis.

Trowa doesn't wave back, but his face lightens barely perceptibly in greeting. He heads over.

Which he was going to anyway, okay, but probably not to that exact area of wall.

Cathy recaps her water, and beams up at him. "How's life, mister?"

"Okay."

It's a variant on 'fine'!

(The actual answer: it's going quite well, thanks.)

He'll sit down with her in a moment, if Cathy doesn't get up first.
