Trowa's visit to Quatre's home is about halfway through. It's been a good week. (And, thanks to spending several of Quatre's workdays hanging out at the local university, Trowa now has much more detailed mental notes on how to successfully pass as a college student. Yes, low-stakes infiltration practice is Trowa's idea of a vacation

Cathy is sitting crosslegged by the far wall, near the tightrope, when he walks in. She's drinking from a bottle of water.

She's not winded, but she's clearly taking a break from some practice she's already done, and waves a hand at Trowa as she sips.

Hey, sis.

Trowa doesn't wave back, but his face lightens barely perceptibly in greeting. He heads over.

Which he was going to anyway, okay, but probably not to that exact area of wall.

Cathy recaps her water, and beams up at him. "How's life, mister?"

[3nanashi]

"Okay."

It's a variant on 'fine'!

(The actual answer: it's going quite well, thanks.)

He'll sit down with her in a moment, if Cathy doesn't get up first.

Because he's not sitting, she leans forward to hug his lower leg for a moment before letting go.

"I'm glad to hear it."

Trowa's sister is weird.

(But he likes her anyway.)

He sits down anyway, when she's released his leg.

"You?"

[madeyoudodge]

"Hiding," she admits, leaning against him. "Their boss keeps trying to hire me. But I'm having a great time with my uncles!"

[3nanashi]

Trowa accepts the leaning sister placidly. (Read: affectionately.)

"Good."

About her uncles. Not about the hiring attempts.

[madeyoudodge]

"Are you asking me to abandon you?" Cathy teases. "How's your boy?"

[3nanashi]

"Fine," says Trowa, amused.

"At work."

WHO'S SHOCKED.

"I'd have to work out new acts," he adds, straightfaced. Clearly this is the best and only reason Cathy shouldn't leave!

"That would be inefficent," Cathy sighs dramatically. "I guess I should call it off.

"Whatcha practicing?"

Efficiency is indeed a virtue!

Trowa shrugs slightly, with the shoulder Cathy's not leaning against. "Just to keep up."

Duh, Trowa.

"Wire and general," he adds. "Maybe the bar." Since there's no good trapeze equivalent in this gym. Or most gyms.
