[Out by the lake Max makes plansA few minutes later, when he walks back into the bar, Max has a grin on his face that is somewhat incongruous when it one realizes that his glass is empty. Why would he smirk so broadly if he's out of alcohol

There's already someone there. He's got a glass too. His doesn't need a refill. Noting Max's presence, he looks extremely unconcerned.

After a while, he nods companionably.

Max is feeling magnanimous so he tosses in a smile of greeting when he returns the nod. Then, in a bout of generosity, he raises his newly refilled glass in silent toast.

[howling_laugh]

"Celebrating something in particular?" The man asks, raising one eyebrow.

Perhaps if he had known 'Elizabeth' for longer, Max might find that expression familiar.

"Not really celebrating," Max shrugs his broad shoulders. "Though the woman I'm waiting for is certainly worthy of celebration." Because, really, she's smokin' hot.

"I could ask the same of you," he points out with a sort of amused chuckle. He looks up at her with a grin. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Doing a lot of administration work," Max makes a face. He hates paperwork.

"Trying to spend as much time as I can here." Because it's faaaar more interesting.
