Riku is in Milliways once more. He can be found outside, near to the lake, wielding a practice wooden sword. For every day that he'd lost his sight, he'd gotten rustier with his fighting skills, and he's finding as many chances as he can to practice now ( Read more... )

Not at the moment, despite the prevalence of creatures without hearts.

Like the one stalking a group of demon rabbits, foraging near the treeline. It has noticed Riku, and has paused in its hunt to watch.

Riku notices him too, after a moment. It's evident when his movements freeze up. But only for a moment, before he shrugs it off to be as if he hadn't been affected at all.

This is him ignoring Yrael, now. Ignore, ignore, ignore. :D

The great thing about forcing oneself to ignore something is that it's very much like telling yourself to not think about a purple rhinoceros stampeding through a china store.

To tell yourself that you're ignoring something is to acknowledge that it's there.

Watching you.

Padding to the side, towards where one's peripheral vision fails.

That's a dirty tactic. It's an especially dirty tactic when Riku's vision hasn't been all that it could have been as of late - though Yrael knows that, doesn't he?

"If you're trying to play a game," Riku says, finally, "I'm not going to play."

There are no Heartless here for now; that may still change sometime in the future.

As it stands, the only reason Axel's outside right now is because he caught a glimpse of what he thought was a familiar form moving out there, and...

Yep.

"Thought I saw you out here."

"Really." Riku responds. He's acknowledging the statement, but not showing much interest in it, as of yet. He merely keeps on with his practice. "Were you looking for me?"

"No," he replies. "But I was bored."

Winter is a boring season. There's a lot of cold. He tries, mostly, to avoid it.

One would think his fire would help a little!

"Nice to know I'm an amusement, then."

Riku glances back at him, a smile twitching over his face for a moment.

Mickey wandered throught he door to the bar. It had been a long time since he had come to the multiversal bar at the end of the universe but he knew that Bar always gave him good cheese... (Pun not intended, I swear) Mickey's eyes floated across the bar before he went and orded. He noticed Riku out of the corner of his eye and after the cheese materialized, he wandered over.

Riku's movements pause when Mickey approachs, and this time, he makes no effort to cover the fact he's noticed someone is there. Unlike Yrael, this is someone worth noticing; unlike Axel, this isn't someone to play around with.

"You're here," he acknowledges, after a long moment of silence. "You come here?"

He sounds surprised, to say the least.

"It's been a while, I know. Things have been busy back home..."

He trails off. He nibbles on some of the cheese.

"I've been in and out for a long time now."

"Busy," Riku acknowledges. "Yeah."

He has a feeling he knows what that's like.

"Why haven't I spotted you before?"

Perhaps Vita has no heart. Nobody has ever tried to take her apart that way to find out, and most of the people who would have attempted to offer an opinion one way or the other have known her long enough that the question no longer matters.

Either way, since she's just coming down, a little slowly, from a practice high herself, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to wander out to a place where she can finish working off that steam.

Of course, she has no idea where such a place might be, and seeing someone else practice their forms is a bit of a distraction from finding a place of her own. She pauses, then decides to lean against a tree and watch, at least for now.

Riku may be concentrating on his form and his practice sword, but he can still smell others when they're around. That sense has never suffered, never left him, and it's not going to anytime soon.

She's not a distraction for him, but the fact she's paused to study him is certainly a curiousity. "Something worth watching?" he queries, not stopping with his sword.

She doesn't immediately respond, preferring, instead, to continue watching him (he could use a tightening up of his left leg on that particular forward thrust, and he keeps leaving himself open right there, but she knows he can see it, it's written all over his face, and Signum's the one who knows how to actually do anything about teaching proper swordplay, not Vita) for a few more moments; finally, she steps away from the tree to stand, arms folded, and look at him. "Perhaps," she says, then continues without pausing, despite the obvious shift in topic. "You're out of shape, aren't you?"

Spoon is very much not a Heartless. He is, however, a swordsman (more now than when it was just a hobby) and when he heads out with his own practise sword over his shoulder he pauses to watch the (much) younger man working out.

When Riku notices the presence of another, he notes the sword quickly. "You as well?" he inquires, even though it's pretty obvious.

"Twenty five years now." Spoon says with a nod and a faint smile, "Only got into it intensively since I got free, though."

Riku grins, the expression showing a little too much teeth. "Longer than me," he says. "I haven't even been alive that long."

Certain parts of him, anyway.
