Wednesday Night 'Tending

Nov 14, 2007 16:11

Tonight, Lee and Kara wander downstairs, both looking well-frakked and ready to spend an evening drinking and getting in trouble. Unfortunately, the bar is unmanned! (not in the castrated way) Kara leans over the shining surface in search of a person and when none is forthcoming, she hikes herself over the top and onto the other side where she ( Read more... )

...did the word 'cigars' come into being?

Al is so there, strolling on up to the bar. He ran out of cigars two days ago, and almost feels naked without them.

"Evenin'..."

"Hey. What can I get you?"

She leans forward onto the bar, smiling genially.

"The sign says you've got cigars? And I wouldn't turn down a coffee, if you've got that too. Or anything non-alcoholic, really." He grins.

"Caprican Broadleaf, best there is. It's what I smoke"

She reaches down and pulls out a couple, setting them on the bar.

"Lee! Can you pour a coffee?"

Things could go very wrong if, say, someone they recognize but might not have expected to see shows up.

Gaius has, reluctantly, admitted that he is not actually hallucinating or otherwise in a fugue state, and that this place, whatever and wherever it is, must therefore be real. So, he has given in and accepted the evidence of his senses for the time being.

He grabs a seat at the bar without really looking up at who's behind it, and simply orders himself a glass of water and a tossed salad.

She knows that voice. She knows it and she doesn't really like it.

"Oh, frak me. Baltar?"

Lee snaps around at the sound of Kara's voice.

"Uh... evening, doctor..."

Possibly one of the last people he ever expected to show up here.

His head snaps up at the twin voices.

"Oh, gods."

He's beginning to re-evaluate his theory. This isn't an hallucination. This is hell.

Kara looks down at it in shock.

"Lee...the napkin is talking to me..."

Lee blinks a little.

"Talking talking, or writing talking?"

Mary Anne spends a minute studying the specials board, but none of those sound familiar. Still, she hopes that a few things are universal.

"Are any of those anything like tequila?"

Lee says very eloquently:

"Uh..."

He produces a bright green bottle, pouring a shot for her.

"You can tell me if you like it. Picon's finest."

"Sounds like a plan. Cheers."

She tosses back the shot; it doesn't taste a damn thing like tequila--which stands in its favor--but it's got a burn to match.

"I think we have a winner." She glances back at the board. "So this is ambrosia, you said?"

He pours her another.

"Sure is. Best stuff around, not that there's much of it left where I'm from. I'm Lee by the way."

Cigars, right?

And drinks.

Tower appears at the bar and says, "The martini, please - I'm sure those eyes make it very, very special."

He winked at Kara, because you wink at women...

She smirks and mixes his drink, setting it on a napkin in front of him.

"I'm hardly Athena, but thanks..."

Tower smiles. "You might be?" he suggests, lifts his glass, and sips.

Independent young fighting woman - of course there is a bit of Athena in her, if you're talking Greek goddesses.

"I've been to her Tomb, but I'm not her."

She offers her hand across the bar.

"Kara Thrace"
