Intruder! "The Gentleman Spy's Guide to Thugs, Minions and Cannon Fodder (Volume 5)" launched itself from the top of one of the stacks at her.

The book was thrown off balance by her dodge, landed on one of it's corners, and skidded and tumbled into a wastepaper bin.

Sora was expecting a calm little chat with Connor as she walked into the doors of Milieux Library.

What she got was a copy of War and Peace (Part One, thankfully) to the head.

She didn't stand a chance, hitting the floor, her straw hat flying off her head.

Rubbing her head, Sora slowly sat up. "I... think so," she said quietly, pain throbbing between her eyes as her forehead and bridge of her nose slowly turned red, then began to bruise.

His mind still boggling from his conversation with Vanessa earlier in the day, Carson headed for the library. He had known Milieux was strange, but time travel? Oh, he so wasn't telling his parents about that.

Carson had been expecting a lot of activity in the library, since classes were about to pick up again. He hadn't expected said activity to come in the form of books taking a kamakazi run at his head.

"Watch out!" Connor called out and swatted the book aside. A collection of comics about villains and crooks. "Great, they've started recruiting from the fiction section."

"This is so not what I came to this school for!" Carson said, ducking from another book. "Any chance we can recruit the self-help section?"

As if on cue, a cadre of Self Defense tomes charged in and drove away the attacking Evil Books.

"Sorry man, usually it's actually quiet in here."
