Who likes to rock the party? I like to rock the party!

Yessssss, I just bought tickets to see Flight of the Conchords at The Chicago Theatre on May 14! Man, that was a tense couple of minutes. The tickets went on sale at noon, so as soon as the clock turned to 12, I tried to order them. I got some seats right away, but then I was SO stupid and gave them up to try and get better seats. Big mistake. I tried again, but this time I kept getting messages that there were no seats available. I was so afraid that I had lost the chance to get anything. Finally, after like 10 more tries, I got seats again. They aren't the greatest, but they're better than nothing. We'll be on the main floor, but it looks like we're in one of the very last rows and we are two sections from the center. I was so excited to get tickets, but then finding out the seat numbers and seeing how much they charge kills the buzz a little. The tickets themselves are pretty cheap - only $29.50. But then they tack on a facility charge and a convenience charge for EACH ticket, as well as an order processing fee and taxes. That means I had to shell out an extra $42.75. Bullshit. Oh well, I need to focus on the positive - I'll be seeing Flight of the Conchords live in about a month!

Since I'm talking about tickets, I also have a free ticket to see next Thursday's Cubs game. I guess Laura's sister had some extra tickets, and she talked to Christine about it, and she said we should all go together as an office outing. When I was younger, I was a HUGE baseball fan. I collected baseball cards and my brother, best friend and I played a game where we pretended to be baseball players (my brother was always Frank Thomas, my friend was Lance Johnson, and I was Robin Ventura). We hated the Cubs and loved the White Sox. I went to a couple of White Sox games every year and have only been to one Cubs game my entire life. I don't hate the Cubs anymore, but I do seem to encounter plenty of Cubs fans who hate the White Sox, so that does kind of make me want to go back to the Sox. I don't really care for baseball now, but hey, it's a day off work. I'm hoping for nice weather and that it will be a fun day.

Today is gorgeous, but you wouldn't know it sitting in my office. It is freezing in here! I think the air conditioning is on, which is so unnecessary. I always get to leave early on Fridays, so I'm looking forward to spending some time outside later today. Unfortunately, the nice weather is not supposed to last. They say it may snow this weekend. Boo.

bullshit, tickets, baseball, weather, cubs game, flight of the conchords
