I did some serious clothes shopping on Saturday. I was out and about for 6 hours and would have continued shopping had the stores stayed open later. I was pretty sore afterwards. I wore ballet flats, which was a bad choice because my feet were absolutely killing me once I got home. My arms and shoulders were also sore from carrying around my purse and the clothes. I guess I have to get myself in shape - not to fit into the clothes, but to do the actual shopping.
I love my new pants from New York and Company (I am wearing them right now). They're really comfortable, fit well, and were cheap. They originally cost $44.99, but they were on sale for $14.99, and then I got an additional 15% off. Score! I love getting good deals. I also bought a spring coat at Kohl's. I went there looking for clothes, but couldn't find anything, and then I came across the coat. I didn't really need another coat that badly, but it was super cute and on sale. It was originally $84.99 and was marked down to $44.99. Plus, I had a 30% off coupon, so I consider that another awesome deal.
I love new clothes, but I usually hate clothes shopping. I tend to hate it because I try on so many clothes, but come home with nothing because they don't fit or just look bad once I have them on. Or, I'll find something I love, but it is way too expensive. Saturday was a different story, and I had a lot of luck and a good time. I still would like to buy a couple more shirts and I need capris, shorts, and skirts, but I can wait a while longer before I go shopping again.
Yesterday I spent my time cleaning and then finished Emma by Jane Austen. I knew the basics of the story before I read it, and I also knew of Austen's quote, "I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like." I really enjoyed the novel and even liked Emma herself. Now I feel like watching Clueless again and comparing the two. It has been too long since I've watched that movie. With Emma, I have finally read all of Austen's novels (not counting the unfinished ones). I feel like I should probably reread Pride and Prejudice and Mansfield Park because I first read them during my sophomore year of high school, so that would have been about 9 years ago. I need a refresher on those two. I would also like to read the The Jane Austen Book Club. I'll have to see if the library has a copy of it.
