Trucy walks underneath the banners into the festival, looking excitedly around her. Just being at the festival is exciting-- there's a magical feel in the air that makes Trucy particularly cheerful, especially since she'd just had the chance to make a wish on the pretty magic river.

But after a while, she starts to get curious about the treats and carnival games. She doesn't have any money, so she decides to just stand near the stalls and look cute in hopes that someone will decide to pay for her to play or have a snack.

Though Apollo wants to be grumpy and scared, he can't help thinking the festival looks fun.
However, Apollo has no idea how to panhandle properly. He stands next to the much cuter Trucy and shuffles nervously.

"Polly, you're here!" Trucy says, bouncing on the balls of her feet happily. "Did you make a wish?" she adds. "What'd you wish for?"

"Oh, I just wished to go home." Apollo said, embarrassed at his unimaginative wish, "What about you? What did you wish for?"

"...This does feel more comfortable after all."

Ginko wasn't sure where to put his hands without pockets as he walked, so he settled for folding them inside the sleeves of his yukata once he got closer to the festival and saw that that's how others seemed to be wearing it. He didn't venture too far in yet, however, and waited on the outskirts while scanning the crowd for Priscilla. In the meantime, he just enjoyed people-watching anyway.

Everyone looks like they're happy to have something to get excited about, he thought to himself. Sniffing something in the air, he looked around at what people were carrying and pondered which foods he'd have to hunt down later and try out for himself.

Everywhere Priscilla turned, she saw a dance of color. Vivid banners lay against the clear blue sky, clothing was bright and cheerful, and the people themselves all served to bring life to this place. The Etrurian markets had been like this, she remembered, but the sights had not been so beautiful nor the smells so pleasing. Yet, she had loved those sights as she could never love these.

She found herself looking for one sight in particular, of a man with white hair and a single green eye. She never felt the worry that he would not be here. Steady and immutable, she thought. She spotted him at the edge of the crowd. He wore a yukata. Her dress was not quite so traditional, a white summer dress with silver-gold embroidery around the edges. The -- what had it been called? -- the Japanese culture that seemed so prevalent here felt foreign to her ( ... )

Ginko's eye finally found what he was looking for, and he smiled in greeting as Priscilla approached. "...A nice evening, isn't it? I'm glad I took Haruhi's advise and came later after the air's cooled," he commented.

Priscilla looked beautiful, and he didn't mind gazing fondly at her before turning his eye back to the festival before them, wondering where their first stop should be.

She smiled too, and stood near him. "Yes, it is," she agreed. There was life, and there was beauty, and there was something in the air that seemed different, almost. She felt a warm breeze blow across her face and through her hair, and she turned her head to look at him. She caught him turning away, and hid a smile.

"Everything's so lovely," she said. "It's almost . . . ethereal." The vendors and hawkers in Etruria had been firmly of this earth, but that had been why she liked them. Here, there was beauty, and though she searched for the darkness, she could find none. "Shall we go?"

Haruhi wandered into the festival site later in the evening, when it had cooled down from the usual summer heat. Wearing a yukata and seeing all of the stalls and games filled her with... well, not fond memories, exactly, but at least a vague sense of familiarity. It seemed nice.

After looking around for a moment, Haruhi gravitated towards the food stalls.

Everything seemed familiar and normal enough to Kyon as he entered the festival, donning a simple men's yukata he'd purchased for the occasion. Different businesses advertising their merchandise, games for the kids, food stalls...he felt like this was something he was used to, although he had no memory of ever going to a festival before.

No choice but to wait for those memories to come back, huh...

His stomach grumbled and said that his concerns right now should revolve around more material matters. Glancing around at the nearby shops, he moved towards one that was selling takoyaki. Leaning over and checking out the sizzling fried octopus, he accidentally bumped into the person standing beside him.

"Ah, sorry--"

Haruhi scanned the food stalls, eventually deciding on the one selling Takoyaki. As she was checking out the sizzling fried octopus, she felt someone bump into her, followed by a hasty apology.

"Ah, it's okay--" she stopped, realizing as she turned that it wasn't a random stranger who she was talking to. "Oh! Kyon?"

Kyon blinked. "Haruhi-san... So, you wanted to try this out, too?" he commented, gesturing to the food stand before them.

What is with this guy and looking girly, he asked himself while sweatdropping inwardly, People who don't know him are going to think he's a she.

"Wow!" Flonne exclaimed as she walked into the festival grounds. Her eyes practically sparkled with excitement as she gazed around at the various stalls and booths where the games could be found. "This looks like a lot of fun!" She said happily as she walked down the street, her head constantly turning in an effort to see everything. "You two wanted to play, didn't you?" She asked, looking to the two demons that accompanied her.

Etna fluttered alongside the happy little angel. Although she herself wasn't going to be nearly as chipper or bubbly over the festival, she did have to admit that it did look like it would be pretty interesting. At the very least, it'd be a good break from her usual schedule of...harassing people around the apartments. Hey, even that gets boring after a while.

"Shut up! You don't stand a chance against me in any of these stupid games!"

Laharl considered his motivation for joining the girls to be 100% based on beating Etna. His inner monologue furiously denied the possibility that 2-5% may have had something to do with fun or Love Freak.

"So... Are you good at games, then?" Flonne asked the pair, genuinely curious as she walked with them. She stopped looking around in wonder for once, concentrating on her friends instead.

Thankfully, the last half hour or so of Ike's shift was uneventful. As soon as his shift was up, Ike signed out, put away his papers, and made his way back toward the entrance to the Ari Apartments.

The half hour wait between the end of Ike's shift and the end of their conversation passed rather quickly. A few minutes before the designated time arrived, Euphie cheerfully headed out of her apartment and out to the entrance. It wasn't long before she could see Ike approaching and a grin appeared on her face. She waved enthusiastically and called out to him, "Ike!" Her energy level had certainly risen since hearing about the festival.

Ike walked up to Euphie, unable to stop himself from smiling back. It seemed her attitude was contagious. "Hey," he said. "I take it you're ready to go? You definitely seem excited enough. Anywhere you want to stop at first down there?"

She nodded, "Quite ready. And I don't have much of a schedule planned out, really. I think festivals are really meant to be spontaneous anyway." After a brief pause, she added, "Oh. But of course, is there anything you would like to do?"
