Thankfully, the last half hour or so of Ike's shift was uneventful. As soon as his shift was up, Ike signed out, put away his papers, and made his way back toward the entrance to the Ari Apartments.

The half hour wait between the end of Ike's shift and the end of their conversation passed rather quickly. A few minutes before the designated time arrived, Euphie cheerfully headed out of her apartment and out to the entrance. It wasn't long before she could see Ike approaching and a grin appeared on her face. She waved enthusiastically and called out to him, "Ike!" Her energy level had certainly risen since hearing about the festival.

Ike walked up to Euphie, unable to stop himself from smiling back. It seemed her attitude was contagious. "Hey," he said. "I take it you're ready to go? You definitely seem excited enough. Anywhere you want to stop at first down there?"

She nodded, "Quite ready. And I don't have much of a schedule planned out, really. I think festivals are really meant to be spontaneous anyway." After a brief pause, she added, "Oh. But of course, is there anything you would like to do?"

Ike shrugged as he started to walk. "A little bit of everything." He then thought for a moment. "Actually, did you find any star pieces? I found one myself, so let's take care of that first."

Euphie was quick to follow soon after. She then nodded in agreement, "Yes, I found one just recently. I suppose I should get around to sending it on its way."

"Then let's make that the first stop," Ike said.

After sending his boat off, Ike's stomach growled. Loudly. He turned to Euphie, slightly embarrassed. "Er...mind going to get something to eat next?"

She was quick to agree and realized that she'd actually found two star pieces. More of the reason to go, she thought. After sending her pieces off, she turned to Ike and was happy to comply. "Oh, of course. I'm sure you're hungry after working."

"Yeah," Ike replied. "Being a patrolman isn't easy. Luckily, nothing serious happened on my watch." He walked over to a bunch of food stands, which had everything from corn on the cob to caramel apples and everything in between. Deciding he would try a bit of everything that wasn't sweet, he looked at Euphie. "What would you like?" he asked. "It's my treat."

"Is that so? Well that's good, I suppose." Euphie was quick to follow him and was surprise at the variety of food options there was. Turning to Ike, she felt like picking something that seemed at least relatively familiar to her. "Hmm... If you don't mind, I'd like to have a slice of strawberry crepe. Thank you very much, Ike."

"It's the least I could do," Ike said. "I have more money than I know what to do with." He then turned to one of the merchants, ordered a strawberry crepe for Euphie and a piece of corn, a serving of takoyaki, and a shish kabob for himself. He handed the crepe over and began to eat the food he'd ordered.

Happily accepting the crepe and taking a tentative first bite of it, Euphie was pleased with her choice. The sweetness seemed somewhat familiar to her, possibly because she had it before she lost her memories? She wasn't quite sure, but it was a possibility. "Thank you again. I'll try to pay you back when I manage to get a job."

"You don't need to worry about that," Ike said. "Like I said before, it's no trouble." He then started in on his food himself. "Hey, this takoyaki stuff is actually pretty good!"

Somewhat hesitant to be accepting such charity, Euphie gave no clear answer as to whether or not she'll just let it go. Instead, she just smiled and nodded before continuing to eat her crepe, "This food is delicious. I do hope for more events like this to occur."

"Yeah, I like the events that don't have any extra strings attached," Ike said. After that, he focused on eating his food. Once he finished, he asked, "I was thinking of checking out the games. Does that sound good to you?"

Having finished her crepe a few minutes before his question, Euphie nodded and smiled, "Yes, that sounds just fine. I'm curious what types they have here."
