Colorful banners mark the ways into the Tanabata Festival. A variety of carnival games are set up, from classic to absurd -- ring toss, horseshoe throw, goldfish fishing, shooting clay pigeons, apple bobbing, and so on. To the side, there are various food stands serving Japanese meals and treats. Every night, there is a fireworks display, and the stands are silent and dark as the display bursts in the sky.
Part of the festival seems to be sectioned off for a weaving and carving activity of some sort.
