for two days in a row i have had a slice of pie and some caffeine for lunch. yesterday it was blueberry pie and homemade mango iced tea. today it was key lime pie and an iced cappuccino. i like this trend.

berkeley is frustrating. on the heels of the closure of one of the last theatres that plays indie/artsy films -- act I and II -- comes another loss.

s and i had a celebratory dinner on friday. will perhaps add more later.

plumpjack cafe has a lovely, cozy space, like being in your hip friend's dimly lit dining room surrounded by well-endowed wine racks. they start you off with a demitasse of english pea soup, which is a dainty delicious teaser.
