 Know what's cool?  Amazon having decent prices on a lot of new/still airing TV shows with female (often in multiples) leads that not enough people are watching.  (What's not cool is having to remind myself that no, I actually DON'T have a lot of money to spare, most of what looks like fun money in my account is for WisCon.)

1.  BBC has cancelled The Hour. BAH.  If it'd been after the first series, I wouldn't have minded.  I enjoyed it and was glad to learn there would be a second series. But while it left things open for a second series, it also stood on it's own pretty well and would have felt complete if there hadn't been more.  OTOH, series 2 wrapped most things up ( Read more... )

Call the Midwife: Christmas Special: Simultaneously thoroughly heartbreaking and uplifting. It's unlikely to have any repercussions on the series as a whole, but is a very good standalone episode.
