Kitty: Home Hospice, Day 4.
Lucy's creatin and BUN numbers are worse after 4 days of being home with us. Creatin has gone from 723 to 974. That's a pretty big jump and indicates that all is very much not well with her kidneys. We've brought her home and will continue to monitor and cuddle her. I think it is time to start saying goodbye to our beloved cat. -
Kitty: Home Hospice, Day 3.
Our kitty, Lucy, will get her blood work done tomorrow and get a clearer picture of how she is responding. Today was decent day - she ate a good deal of food, wandered a little around the house, and slept a lot. Will report more after our visit with the vet. -
Concerns for offshore oil drilling.

Kitty: Home Hospice, Day 2.
Administering subcutaneous fluids to our cat with an IV bag is very easy. I've rigged it with a hanging scale so I can tell how much fluid has gone under her skin. The fact that she is completely oblivious of my doing it has me a bit concerned. It could also be that I've been lucky and she is not in any discomfort from the needle. Kitty: Home Hospice.
We've brought our cat home. She is in very rough shape. We've gotten some food and water into her and won't have to start subcutaneous fluids until tomorrow morning. Here's hoping that being home with us allows her to heal a bit more so that when we go for our vet visit on Tuesday next week that her blood levels are a bit less extreme. It's not ( Read more... )
