Administering subcutaneous fluids to our cat with an IV bag is very easy. I've rigged it with a hanging scale so I can tell how much fluid has gone under her skin. The fact that she is completely oblivious of my doing it has me a bit concerned. It could also be that I've been lucky and she is not in any discomfort from the needle. I did SubQ fluids with Rudy and she really didn't seem to mind -- and she was a very picky cat.

I hope very much that things get better for you. I know how hard it is to give this kind of care to a pet at home. I've done it.

I'm so sorry to hear Lucy isn't feeling well.

The family cat needed SubQ fluids for several years, she didn't seem to mind it that much. The fluid camel hump on her back seemed to bother her more than the needle part.
