Okay preternatural romance folks, I've just started Christine Feehan's Carpathian series (Dark Prince), and I want to throw the damn thing across the room. No, really. The whole series is like that, I got through three and went, ok my rape quota for the millennium is reached!

Her games series is better, somewhat. Nora Roberts is good. Patricia Briggs is good. Strong female characters and not a lot of "she said no, but she meant yes" BS.

Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series is awesome, historical fiction/romance with a strong female main character. :)

I second Nora Roberts. And if you want something futuristic/sci-fi, her JD Robb books are out of this world. And no one could ever accuse her of writing female characters that don't kick major ass. *g*

I adore She-body! And McNabb, lol. I think my favorite character though is Mavis, she is just such a scamp, and a true sweetheart who keeps Eve in touch with her feminine side, much against her will! LOL
