I <3 Christopher Moore. Fool is Moore's comic retelling of Shakepeare's King Lear, as told by Lear's fool, Pocket. Pocket is sharp, and funny, and filthy-minded, and I spent nearly every moment of this audiobook laughing like a madwoman. This book was just SO. MUCH. FUN. 1. James and the Giant Peach. I think this is the only Roald Dahl book I've actually read, but I love it to itty-bitty pieces.

This has been a stressful couple of weeks for me, so reading a novel that was going to touch on my biggest "NO" button (that would be zombies, for those of you playing at home) was probably not the greatest idea in the world. But I'd started it before I realized what it was, and by that point I figured I'd give it a chance.

My dad bought me chocolate for Valentines day. Chocolate screws up my sinuses something fierce, so this morning has been a miserable one. Wow. This was absolutely stunning. It's a wordless graphic novel (well, there are some words in the scenery, but no dialogue), but it didn't need any. This book told more of a story in 142 pages of black and white sketches than many full-length novels I have read ( Read more... )
