Hah. Too bad for you, looks like you're reinvited.

[have a snort, too] Does that look like radar equipment to you?! Then again, 'civilians' are pretty stupid.

[He'd given up on actually getting through to someone, and so the sudden voice has him fumbling with the communicator. After a moment, he brings the thing up to his mouth. He only manages to catch about half of the guy's message, but from what he hears he can guess the rest of it isn't too friendly.]

Who is this?

[you can hear him tapping the communicator impatiently, too, while you're bumbling about]

Hmph. Somebody who's obviously more up to date than you are. The name's Lafayel.

[He's a little confused by the appearance of text. It takes him a little extra time to reply, and it's still voice:]

They're calling it a police action back home, but yeah.

You from the same war as those other guys?

..."Other guys"? [...] I take it you've met Hawkeye. Who else got roped into this place? McIntyre? Frank?

Colonel Potter. And I think the other guys name was Hunnicutt or something.

From one war into another. And you were heading home to see your family? {Not like he needs another reason to hate the scientists, but this isn't helping their case at all.}

Here Hope this helps a little.

Names Ace, should you need anything.

[There's silence on his end as he reads through the guide, save for a few quiet outbursts of "Holy Toledo..." and the like. There are also footsteps to be heard, though they're slow and maybe a little erratic. Eventually:]

Why do I get the feeling I'm looking at the watered-down version here?

{He listens to your exclamations silently, patiently waiting for any questions. Poor guy, he has every reason to be as confused and bewildered as he sounds.}

Well, they had to keep it quick and simple for any new arrivals. That news alone is bad enough as is.

I'm sorry.

Do you have any friends here? A place to stay? Anything I can do?

Oh, no. I'm gonna be fine. I managed to get in touch with one friend - Hawkeye; I don't know if you've ever heard of him - and he's coming for me right now. You've been a lot of help, though. I'm not too fond of what I just read, but I'm not about to shoot the messenger. [...] Ace, was it?
