Patchouli's IC Discedo Information Post for newcomers
Introduction: This message is designed for those who have just arrived to Discedo and are confused and disoriented. This will attempt to answer any questions they have in a simple and effective manner.
Your Location And Who Brought You Here: This place is named Discedo, and it is on a planet named Fortuna. If you are from Earth, it may seem similar to it, although there are numerous physical and historical differences. You have been brought here by a group called "the scientists", who have pulled you from your own world or universe and placed you here. (Here world and universe are used interchangeably). How they do this is unknown. The scientists themselves are never seen, although they are presumably watching.
Inhabitants and Monsters: All beings, besides the scientists, appear to pulled from other worlds themselves. Even the hostile creatures you may encounter are not native to this world. You may find that some of the other inhabitants are familiar to you; however they may be from your past or your future. They may be from a slightly different world than your own. They may even be a counterpart of yourself, as long as they are sufficiently different.
Leaving: Leaving only happens randomly, at the whim of the scientists. If you leave, you will be returned at the moment you left. Your memories of this place may or may not be erased. Alternatively, they may simply bring another "you" from another world.
Supernatural and Extraordinary Abilities: A device known as a chip suppresses, any abilities that the scientists consider above-human. These chips can be removed by some of the other inhabitants, but it is dangerous. There have been cases of fatal infections and temporary loss of control. This chips seem to have no limits to what kind of abilities they suppress.
Addition on October 14 2009: Unfortunately, it may also be unwise to leave the chip in, even if you do not have powers. As I am writing this, there is an incident where many individuals have fallen into violence and paranoia. This seems only to affect individuals who still have chips. I have also heard of similar events in the past related to the presence of the chip. It is up to you whether you are willing to risk chip removal against one of these events.
Supplies and Buildings: There are several apartment buildings, a hospital, a police department, a Church, a school, and a library. The scientists apparently give basic provisions, although additional supplies can be found in the city.
Addition on March 23, 2010: There is an inventory of items in the High School, in rooms 201, 202 and 203. Common items are canned food, clothes, blankets, and raw materials.
The Communicator: You may recieve an electric shock if you do not use your communicator for too long.
Natural Disasters: These are all too common is Discedo. Some disasters include acid rain, volcanic ash, and earthquakes. Keep yourself safe during one of these occurrences.
Death: Apparently, the scientists revive you if you die. How they do this unknown. Still, take care not to die, as it is an unpleasant experience.
Addition on August 24 2009: If your chip has been removed, it will be replaced upon your revival.
