It's been a lot colder this year and snows a lot more this year than last year. I decided to skip going to the ski slopes this weekend because I have a slight cold and cough. Last weekend, I went to Ikaho, a place famous for many hot springs and good autumn colours.

In Japan, people enjoy watching the fall colours - especially the maple leaves and like cherry blossom viewing, many would flock to sites with beautiful colours to observe.

The cicadas are very loud ... I don't know why I never really noticed them in Australia in summer but I remember them when I was in Malaysia in my late-grandmother's house. I can hear them all the time here in Japan.
