It’s that time of year again, time to go buy a new tag sticker for my Jeep. Usually the price goes down every year, as it’s somewhat based on the value of the vehicle, but this year it was significantly higher.
So, long wait in line at the ever delightful DMV office to request clarification. “Oh,” they said. “That’s the special tag fee.”

epic baking of great epicness
The help_japan auctions have ended. I'm so pleased with how well my baked goods auctions were received- the "Not Your Housekeeper, Dear" box went for $50, and then another person contacted me to ask if I'd make a second one for the same donation amount. Already received confirmation of donations to Doctors Without Borders from both of those lovely people.

Word from HonorH!
There has finally been word from honorh , she's safe! The US consulate got word that she is accounted for in a shelter in Kamaishi, the consulate contacted her family. Word is that the situation in the shelters isn't a lot of fun- not a lot of food and water, no electricity in most and cold nights- but hopefully soon Japan will be allowing foreign aid, ( Read more... ) -

I wish I could force myself to stop looking at pictures and videos of the devastation in Japan. It is deeply horrifying, and the images just keep getting worse.
