I am flying back to London tonight. And its back to work tomorrow morning, for which I am woefully unprepared. I have most of my clothes and necessities in suitcases in my friend Angela's room, plus I still haven't got the keys for my new place yet. Still flat hunting. It is so soul draining! I have seen such bad places, unfit for human habitation some of them. It takes up all my spare time. I have stopped going to aikido, the swimming pool, have skipped a number of events I wanted to go to. Ugh ( Read more... )

I find the backstreets and alleyways of a city just as interesting as the main roads and public squares. I always enjoy exploring the back spaces and what hides behind the shiny shop fronts. Today was the day of the festival! I took the day of work to go. I went early to help set everything up and stayed till the end to help clear up, so I am unbelievably exhausted now. (I got sick bank holiday monday and am still not completely 100%)

I really love public art. Even though it can be very hit and miss - in Greece in particular we have an abundance of obscenely ugly modern public art - I prefer an ugly sculpture over no sculpture at all any time ( Read more... )

What I love about the city, is that as you wonder round it and explore it, you never know what you will come across. London in particular is a very fertile city that way. Central London is in a way considered the "front window" or "display" of the UK, and a lot of care has been put into its public space and buildings ( Read more... )

I try hard to cut down on my shopping habits, but its hard. I like buying stuff! I know its very materialistic of me, and that I don't have the money or the space, but its hard to kick bad habits. In any case most of the stuff I made my mother buy me as a birthday present.

My visit to Greece was not all stress and drama. I also managed to go to an island for a week.

I went with the friend I keep on ending up going on holiday with lately. The others all either don't have money or else have boyfriends/girlfriends to accommodate.
