Can I post two questions that have been killing me?
1) How is Udina a council member now? I'm sure I picked Anderson in EVERY playthrough. Do they rotate or something?
2) In "The Arrival" it was established that destroying a Mass Relay can wipe out a planet...so how is all of them going nuclear not killing the rest of the "survivors"?
1) Udina is made Councilor in the books, so he is in the games. I forget why but Anderson steps down I believe.
2) The theory on that is that the relays are "overloading" with whatever choice Shep makes, not outright exploding. Or if they are, the energy released isn't destructive, but transformative. There's no concrete answer in the game.
#2 is one of the many reasons people are confused on the endings. It's best to just NOT think about it, because we're likely never going to get a clear cut answer.
EDIT: It looked like the Normandy got sucked into a wormhole caused by the explosion to me. That's how I interpreted it.
I pretty much agree with what you have said. I just want my decisions to actually matter in the end, and not just by raising my EMS (which can also be done by playing a lot of MP). I have a lot of different Shepards in which I had made a whole bunch of different choices just to see how different the ending would be. But in the end, it doesn't really matter...
I also made myself a headcanon that helps me see past the endings. Either way, I'm not letting the last 10 minutes of the ending spoil the whole game/series for me.
Yes, I am looking forward to it! It will be my first online gaming experience since I was addicted to MUDing nearly ten years ago.
I don't do much on Livejournal but follow these Bioware-related comms, so this is my only icon, but I do find it slightly ironic to use while talking about endings. I mean, if I liked Dreamfall's ending, but not ME3's...

2) Well they are exploding. As in a million pieces and doesn't the explosion take down the Normandy? This question is eating away at me.

I've got a short post here with a screenshot, which is just me kind of ranting. And a more organized post here.

It has helped me so much to read everyone's thoughts and feelings about the endings, both good and bad. I'd love to hear others' takes on my thoughts:

To summarize the post, I hate the endings, but I've found a way to live with them.

(So, I gotta ask... looking forward to The Secret World this summer? Because I am all over that.)
