I love this. So much. It's my biggest irritation with the Skykid's logic. Because it's completely illogical. :P

I think the implication of the cycle though, is that they're still leaving the undeveloped organics alone - pruning the hedge, as it were, with the idea that were the synthetics the Catalyst speaks of wreaking destruction would not leave the undevelopeds alone, but would instead erradicate ALL organics, making it impossible for anything to come back. The difference between picking flowers when they bloom to allow for the smaller buds to get the nutrients they need, versus setting the whole place en fuego so no flowers grow ever again.

I still love this image though. Cracks me the hell up. But just some food for thought on how it's not an idea I'm crazy about, but it's also not as illogical as you might think.
