Teen Heroes Draw Praise and Criticism
By Daily Bugle reporter Kat Farrell
New York    Over the past several weeks, New Yorkers have reported seeing a team of teenaged vigilantes, with costumes reminiscent of various Avengers.  But their resemblance to Avengers do not seem limited to their costumes, but also extend to their powers.  From the armored ( Read more... )

Captain America places the paper down on the table.

His expression is grim.

Dr. Pym has been reading the paper, too.

"Uh, Cap?" he asks as he finishes off a bagel. "Do you know anything about this?"

His grim expression deepens.

"I'm about to."

The Times-Picayune is running a similar story. After reading the story from beginning to end, Monica picks up the phone.

Jarvis shakes his head as he puts the paper down.

"Oh, dear. This doesn't bode well..."

Billy's jaw drops when he sees the article.

Having finally gotten the hang of teleportation spells, he appears in Teddy's bedroom in a flash of blue light.

"Teddy! Teddy Teddy Teddy! You have GOT to see this!"

Teddy was doubled over in the process of putting on his left sock (having just gotten out of the shower not but five minutes prior to Billy's surprise entrance) when the flash erupted from behind him. Hair barely dried he had already gotten mostly dressed. With a towel around his neck the tow-headed shape shifter twisted his body quickly around towards the source of the blue flash. Unfortunately his awkward teenage feet had forgotten to follow.

Falling backwards, ass first, into his closet, he let out a muffled, “Bil-oomph?”

Billy's next in there, tackling his boyfriend even closer to the ground. There's a quick kiss before he pulls himself back and a newspaper is shoved right into Teddy's face.

Surprised, dazed, and slightly turned on, Teddy took the paper in hand, and leaned forward to catch the light. It only took a few seconds for him to skim the front page, and see exactly what had Billy so excited.

A broad grin crossed his face, like a kid whose got the biggest Christmas box under the tree, as his eyes drifted up to meet Billy's. "We've gotta call the guys!," he almost laughed out.

Thankfully his mother had already left for work, or the noise might have drawn some attention.

She set the ruler and exacto-knife to one side then lifted the article carefully from the rest of the newspaper. She reads it through once more with a growing smirk on her face.

A few moments later, the article has been carefully tacked to the inside of her spacious closet, right next to a familiar looking bow and a quiver of arrows that occupy a space tucked away, hidden from view. Her arms cross as she steps back to look at the beginnings of her little shrine, the smirk becoming one of pride.

Her pride will be interrupted, though, when she hears her phone ringing.

"Speak to me."

"Smug, smirky, and oh-so-full of that rich-girl flair we've come to love.

"I take it you get the Bugle?"

If Cassie Lang payed more attention to the paper than usual, she couldn't be blamed. Of course she tried to be casual about it, so after too short a time to fully read the article, she set the paper down. She could always get a better look later.

Casual? To hell with casual. Billy aims to fanboy-squeal her ear off when she finally picks up her phone.

After several rings, Cassie answered the phone. "Hello?"
