After school Cassie had spent the day helping Iron Man make her new suit. It was a lot less exciting than it had sounded. Sure, it was great for the first ten minutes and then it just got repetitive.

Everything is locked down and closed except for minimal, mostly bored, staff. Blackrock isn't the slave driver the Osborns or the succession of CEOs were. That and job security ensures loyal employment. It also means someone outside thinks it's prime time to get a few items to secure his fortunes for 2009.

Scott hummed as he worked on making dinner. He'd relegated Cassie to simply doing the cutting. He loved her cooking but he knew it wasn't exactly to everyone's tastes. Or even most people's tastes. He intentionally didn't bring up the newspaper sitting on the table, turned to page A3.

The mansion was decorated to the hilt with holly, tinsel, mistletoe, lights and other symbols of the festive season.
