Today was Veronica's 21st birthday.

And she was spending it, alone, in her apartment in DC. Her bosses had given her the day off, which she appreciated, but she was definitely missing her friends.

Oh, sure, she could have gone out for her first legal drink with some of her co-workers, but that somehow wasn't the same.

This was one of those days that Mac had programmed into her computer with a handy alert, so once her classes of the day were out of the way, she picked up her phone to give Veronica a call.
