Veronica's Apartment - DC - All Day

Today was Veronica's 21st birthday.

And she was spending it, alone, in her apartment in DC. Her bosses had given her the day off, which she appreciated, but she was definitely missing her friends.

Oh, sure, she could have gone out for her first legal drink with some of her co-workers, but that somehow wasn't the same.

Piper knew what day it was. That would be why Veronica's phone was ringing sometime during the day.

"Piper! Thank you so much for the cake," Veronica said. "I ate a piece for breakfast."

"You're welcome," Piper grinned. "I'm glad it got there in time."

[marsheadtilt]

"I wish we could go out to celebrate though," Veronica said.

"I know," Piper said, frowning slightly. "But maybe we can celebrate this weekend. I really miss my BFF..."

[marsheadtilt]

"That would be cool," Veronica said. "It's so weird being here without you. But I'll be home in a couple of weeks. Just in time to help Isabel make sure everything is set for Xander and Bridge's wedding."

"We'll have to celebrate properly...even if I'm not quite legal yet," Piper joked. "It's so great that there's going to be a wedding."

Veronica laughed. "I can buy a bottle of something and we can get drunk at my place. And it is awesome. I'm so happy for them."

"Yeah, me too," Piper said. "They deserve to be happy after all this time."

"Especially given what they've gone through," Veronica said. At least someone had a happy ending after being cut off from each other.

"Yeah, definitely," Piper agreed. "I'll have to talk to Isabel about some things. The restaurant I work at might be willing to help out."

"I suggested that she call you about catering," Veronica said. "Even if your restaurant can't do it, you're the best judge we've got of quality food."

Piper beamed. "Well, I try. Maybe I can even make some stuff."

She didn't really need many excuses to cook, though.

"I wonder if there's going to be a bachelor party..." Veronica tilted her head, trying to figure out how that would work.

"Maybe there will be two?" Piper had no idea.

[marsheadtilt]

"I dunno, maybe," Veronica said. "I wonder if we could call up Chelsea and see if she can recommend a good male stripper."
