Veronica & Piper's apartment - Sunday

Cameron and Veronica finally emerged from her room when they heard other people moving around. Veronica was grateful that they had fruit and bagels to put out for breakfast so she didn't have to fuss

Cally was curled up on the sofa with a blanket and her knees up against her chest. She was dealing, for now.

She was struck with a sudden thought.

"...crap, did I violate my Vegan diet?"

"I think, considering the circumstances, no," Mac replied carefully. However much Cally appeared to be doing okay, didn't mean she wasn't keeping a close eye on her.

"Whew," Cally said. "It's still the first month. Can't screw up my resolution yet."

Yes, she was focusing on other things.

Mac shook her head. "After only two weeks, nah. You'll keep it up the whole way," she said simply. "I have faith."

Piper was sitting on a chair, still trying to figure out what the demon had to do with anything. "I wish I had the Book of Shadows right now."

"And one of those 'protection from evil' charms," Cally said.

"I suppose I could ask Phoebe to look into it," Piper said quietly.

"Yeah," Cally said. "Wait... something wrong?"

Mac had found herself a seat on the sofa next to Cally, and was half-heartedly attempting to do sudoku from the newspaper. She was being, maybe, even quieter than usual.

Veronica glanced over at Mac. "Hey, you okay?" she asked.

"Mmm." Mac nodded with a little smile at Veronica. "Missing a number," she said tapping the paper in front of her.

"Uh huh," Veronica said, giving Mac a look that indicated she knew her friend was being avoidy. "Maybe you need another cup of coffee."

Cameron returned from the kitchen having taken an aspirin for his headache and sat down on the ground beside Veronica. He looked around the room and couldn't help but smile a little in relief. They might be a bit beat up, but at least they all got out of it in one piece and the rapist was caught.

"How's your shoulder?" Veronica asked quietly.

"Bit sore, but I'll live," he assured her with a small smile.

"Good," she said, resting her hand on his leg. For some reason, she felt better having physical contact right now.
