Tomorrow I have an appointment to visit the preschool that my nephew Bastian goes to, with thoughts of moving Ruthie there.

First of all let me just say that I am SO pleased with how well Ruthie is doing with the whole not nursing at night thing. It's awesome how quickly this has become our "new normal" with really a very small amount of fussing/crying the first few nights. The white lights on the back of my car that are supposed to turn on when I shift into reverse are not working. A friendly gentleman informed me of this the other day when I was parking. I have a job interview today - I'm leaving in about 5 minutes in fact. ;) It's only a 3-month contract, and it sounds like there's very little possibility of it turning into a permanent job, and there are a few other things about it that don't thrill me...but it's an interview, so I'm going to give it my best and see what happens ( Read more... )

Every morning after we drop off Isaac at school, Ruthie and I get back into the car to take her to daycare. So, my grandmother died on Monday. This was not unexpected. She had Alzheimer's and had been "gone" mentally for quite a few years. Over the past month or two, her physical condition deteriorated pretty fast.
