I've had an fannish lj account for many years; I only really ever used it as a reading list. I need to keep fan and RL id very carefully separated. Yuletide stories motivated me to rent the first 3 episodes of Slings and Arrows. I watched all 3 episodes last night, while supposedly grading papers. I admit I ended up doing the mental equivalent of putting my fingers in my ears and singing la-la-la during some of the more embarrassing parts. I have a hard time with that sort of humor. Yuletide rec
Trolling friends of friends lists paid off in Yuletide recommendations. I think my problem is that I've never seen/read the source material for most of these fandoms. Overwhelmed by Yuletide
According to the webpage: Yuletide 2007 ... (has a) total of 2042 stories written in 734 different fandoms by 1291 participants. I've never felt this overwhelmed by fanfiction before. Saturday's U2 show
It was a wonderful show. I didn't take notes or bring a camera and while I'm happy with that decision, I can only recall the concert as a series of moments. I tend to get obsessive about getting the perfect photo or getting comprehensive notes taken, if I am doing either thing at an event. When the best thing in your day was the U2 pre-sale mess, you know it was a bad day.
