Words will kill us all

I've seen the future; what ultimately tears us all apart isn't racism or sexism or classism. No, no, no. It ends up being word-choice-ism.

Anyhugh, you choose - between the two options, which would you use - guys or folks - in these statements?

Poll Folks or Guys?

Your ongoing campaign against the perfectly valid word "yall" has been noted.

Indeed. I use y'all all the time, and I am extremely not Southern.

If you add "y'all" you need to add "yuns" for my part of Appalachia. }:-)

But y'all is singular; all y'all is the plural.

I've heard it that "y'all" refers to a group, whereas "all y'all" refers to a larger group.

I've never personally heard it in the sense of referring to a single person, but I am not the internet, so I dunno.

I've hung around with enough Southerners to learn the extreme usefulness of the word "y'all". Especially when all y'all aren't listening to a word I say :-)
