Words will kill us all

I've seen the future; what ultimately tears us all apart isn't racism or sexism or classism. No, no, no. It ends up being word-choice-ism.

Anyhugh, you choose - between the two options, which would you use - guys or folks - in these statements?

Poll Folks or Guys?

Your ongoing campaign against the perfectly valid word "yall" has been noted.

I think yall is a perfectly cromulent word; it is more the peculiarity of the use of Guys in this non-gendered context. I also see "Dudes" used in a similar fashion - that is to say, with the women on campus referring to each other as "Dude" or "Dudes", regardless of the original gendered use of that word. Apparently, at some point along the way, Guys and Dudes were moved into a non-gendered context and yet I was not informed. I can tell you this, Merriam-Webster is getting a sternly worded teleolithgraph as soon as I get over to the eletrotransversion Station and have it one of the operators send it.

Men being the default and all...

No no, poking you with feminism is only fun when I'm in person to watch you be v. v. frustrated.  <3

I can feel the burning sting of your love right now, and I'm not even counting where your proboscis pierced my flesh and planted your shiny eggs into my various hidden cavities.

...shit, am I out of warranty now?  *grabs manual*

I think I'm a little out of warranty, yes.  I shall have to ponder this.

In the interim, neener neener.
