We're mostly moved in and we're once again connected to the tubes of internet invincibility.  With the help of family and friends things were moved as efficiently as was possible and with the help of my parents, the house is looking good with all rooms either set up or more than half way there.

Finished scrapping the linoleum up tonight.  I swear they double-layered the crap in some areas.  Some of it was wedged pretty well between the floor and the base-boards.  It took using both a flat-head screwdriver and pliers to do the job.  Also finished chipping off the bricks from the the divider.  Still not ENTIRELY sure what we're going to do ( Read more... )

Ever wonder how linoleum was laid down before glue was used?  We've found the answer to be tar paper.  I swear to the goddess above, that if anyone ever wonders why I only like linoleum in the kitchen I am using this experience as a prime example.  Thick, black and a bitch to pull up.  We were hoping that we wouldn't have to use chemical stripper ( Read more... )

Went into the law firm that was acting as the title company for the closing.  Met some of the sellers of the estate (the 5 girls were selling the home after their mother passed away last year).  Met with the lawyer and signed the closing papers (LOTS of signing and LOTS of redundancy).  The sellers met with the lawyer and did the same and then we ( Read more... )

I've just made my first sale from my first show.  The owner wants to extend the show and he wants to have me show again sometime this year.

And it looks like we're going to be bidding a house later this week.

Well, I just survived my company's round of lay-offs.  My hours have been reduced to a 32 hour work week (tenetively), if work picks up, so will my hours.  Here's to hoping that this the only one that happens and that I still have a job this time next year.  Better yet, six months from now. I've just changed my e-mail contact info here.  It's all going to go to my gmail account instead of my hotmail.  There's really no practical reason to still have my old hotmail account.  I think I'm still hanging onto it for nostalgic purposes.  It was my first personal e-amil account and I'm still feeling attached to it.
