So I keep finding artists that I really like for their music, but have crappy lives. And I know that if I told most people, "OMG, I totally love their music," they'd probably laugh at me. Then again, they can bite me ( Read more... )

I love old school Britney. Of course, I'm a fan of Nsync and Backstreet Boys. I went to two New Kids on the Block concerts. I definitely got bubblegum pop music in my blood.

But then on the flipside, I like Pantera and Motley Crue and Jets To Brazil and and Tears for Fears and Metallica and the list goes on and on. I have an ecclectic taste when it comes to music.

Oh, yeah. Old school Nsync and Backstreet Boys...I used to go home and wait for the radio to play those songs. I'd turn it up and just belt them for the world to hear. Of course, the people I was hanging with at the time thought they were just terrible because they were all boy band. But they had good music, so I didn't care. It helped that they all looked gayer than Christmas.

And I listen to the harder stuff, too. I recently discovered Apocalyptica (not always hard, but in that area) and others. Of course, I can't think of artists right now. But my music collections takes up gigabytes of space and includes music from something like 15 different languages (or is it 16 now?) with hard rock, alternative, classical, techno, country, rap and everything in between. It's gonna be interesting trying to catalogue everything.

Music takes up a good chunk of me. If I had to name some bands: KoRn, Led Zeppelin, Incubus, The White Stripes, Linkin Park, AC/DC, Fall Out Boy, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Blackmore's Knight, Medievel Babes, Dead Can Dance, Placebo, Mindless Self Indulgence, Justin Timberlake, Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette, Shakira, AC/DC, Depeche Mode, Prince, Skinny White Chick (I really like her music), Al Green. That's not even a sample of what I like ( ... )

And I really wish the media would stop hating on Spears and Lohan. Just felt like I should say that.

Definitely. Their mistakes are no bigger than when ordinary people do these things. It actually reminds me of Lohan's "Rumors." You should give it a listen if you don't know it. There's a vid on YouTube somewhere.

I actually don't like a lot of the really hard stuff. I've never been able to get into Korn or anything like that, but I love Linkin Park, Rammstein and...I know I'm forgetting someone. Who did Chop Sewey, do you know?

It was funny because the fact that I actually like Britney and the boy bands and all of that was like my dirty little secret in high school. My best friend was listening to more 80s and early 90s sounds and the theatre people were into The Beatles and Dispatch and I picked up Linkin Park and that group from another group...everyone would have laughed.

But I figure everyone has that one band or artist they just *love* that completely contradicts everything else they listen to. Besides, I have over 6 GBs of music...surely there's some commonality somewhere, right? ;)
