Medication makes the world go 'round.

Sep 20, 2009 23:50

So thanks to my flu I am temporarily off my most recent migraine medication. What does this mean? First, it means I have a whopping migraine. Hooray. Second, it means I am temporarily in full control of my faculties again. So I figure I might as well say this now:

Ranting, writing, braining, self-indulging, and maybe a little whining. )

ego, random complaining, writing thoughts

*hugs*

I can relate to migraines. I've had one since- *looks at the calendar* Since- *sighs hard* Aw, crapola. Since February. Somedays it's better than others, but it's always there.

Anyway, that's to say, "I can relate to what you're going through. I hope you start feeling better- and not just because I want to read your fic (although I do) but because I hate the idea of you in pain."

And *hugs again* Because hugs make everything better.

Oof, always there? That's horrifying. I hope you're getting that dealt with, because that's definitely not a good thing.

Naproxxen is my best friend.

I start work on Monday. As soon as I draw a paycheck, I'm going to the doctor for it, and see if I can get some nice happy meds like imitrex.

Sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble with migraines; not a pleasant problem to have and I hope you finally find a med regime that works for you. Does it prevent you from reading as well? Can you use this time as a chance to catch up on the fic that you've been missing out on (if you have)?

In the meantime I shall somehow manage to continue to be your friend, difficult as that task is! *g*

Reading can be difficult, although more because of the migraines than the medication. I tend to try to stick to audiobooks for that reason. Less hurting of the eyes, although I still read regular text all the time. As for fic: I am extremely behind on reading fic, but it's more due to a lack of interest than anything else. I feel bad about it because there are authors out there putting out what I'm sure is great work, but it's been a while since I've felt much a drive to read any fanfic.

Then again, that mood for me comes and goes. Could be tomorrow I'll have a voracious appetite for fic and I'll wind up reading for a week straight. You never know.

I do a lot of reading via audiobook too because of travelling. Mainly by car (40 min drive each way to work every day) but also when I go overseas. I have about 450 audiobooks downloaded (mp3 & iPod). Want any?

I appreciate the offer, but acquiring audiobooks is not a problem that I have.

I'm fortunate in that I only get migranes now when I'm in Caffiene withdrawl. I hope you find something to numb the pain and still leave you clear headed.

Still I think you are being to strict in your requirements to write. I mean I can understand wanting to be pain-free and able to imagine. But really do you have to be lucid? I'd take your insane ramblings any time you choose to post.

Well I can write insane ramblings even when I'm drugged up (although strangely enough, they are not quite as rambling nor quite as insane as normal), but the main problem is that the medication I'm on right now basically keeps me from imagining ( ... )

You physically lost the ability to imagine? That has to be one of the most horrifying things I have ever heard. I can't even imagine. It's like the premise to a dystopia.

And now I think about what it would be like to *not* be able to imagine a movie or book set in a world without imagination, and I am recursively horrified.

I hope things get better for you soon.

Hope that you are feeling better soon! Migraines suck.

I, for one, enjoy all of your posts.

To those that demand more fic? I can't believe the level of ass-hattery that can be found on the internet. Hopefully, you can ignore that lot.

*hugs*

Well, I can't complain that much about the demands for fic. Imagine if the demands were for less fic. Now that would be truly mean.

But yeah, it's a little annoying to be told that the only thing people want from me is my fic. I mean I get it, not everyone is going to be interested in my silly little opinions, but they could easily just go elsewhere if that's the case.

Then again, I've realized that truly intelligent, smart, wonderful, and no doubt highly successful people seem to enjoy all of my posts, so clearly the people who don't must have serious personality flaws. Who wouldn't love me? It's preposterous just to think about it!
