First: Done! with the final book for one of the series I illustrate last night/early this morning. It was both a happy and sad moment for me. Well, happy and sad and tired and worried and relieved and so on, because it was 1am and I also was co-leading the first day of the arts-and-sports camp at our church this afternoon. But the other woman ( Read more... )

Cold weather eh, scarf wearing?? I miss wearing my scarf. Sounds nice. Its still hot here.

A friend of mine is into Skip Beat as well, I think she did a cosplay of Kyoko recently, but I don't know much about it myself aside from the pink jumpsuit thing.

I don't mind your fan-girl posts. Probably, if I was reading the manga, I would not be as amused as you are at the things that amuse you. But it is amusing to me to read how about how amused you are at those things. In that sense, it is as if they create a chain of amusement; though for now its only 2 links long. I will try to figure out how to pass this on to a third person. On the other hand, if my amusement at your amusement, amuses you, then we completed a self sufficient circular chain.

Haha, she dressed up in the toxic-insane pink work uniform? That's pretty awesome.

Glad I could amuse you by being so amusingly amused.

I thought it was her normal clothes, but like I said, I don't really know about it. I looked at some pics from the manga and the type is pretty nice, you were right; I figured you were just making things up again.

Oh, I forgot, Congrats on finishing up the Natalie books. I'm going to start the first one tonight. Is there 6 or 7 total books in that series?

It's kind of her normal clothes, I guess. But it's not something she wears by choice (except sometimes... it's complicated)-it's meant to be outrageous and hideous.

And of course I'm not making things up! Type and design are Very Important to me!!

Enjoy the books! There are 6 of them. You can see the covers on the ZonderKidz website (and maybe Amazon too?)!

I really like the illustrations (water color, I think) that you do for Natalie series. The dinosaur and ice cream books are hits around here :)

Oh, I like how you look at details of the fonts and all that (it reminds me that there is a software that can turn your own writing into a font.) That reminds me I need to reread these since I can't remember where #8 ends.
I do like Lory - he's such a colorful character :)
I like the friendship between Kyoko and Moko. Yashiro is also cool.
It's true, each manga volume doesn't cost much... but the whole series can be a big chunk of change. Sigh!

Thank you very much!! Yes, I used watercolour for those books. The work I just finished was for the last book in that series, actually. I'll miss working on it!! Glad the A2Z books are being enjoyed too. They're a little strange but they're funny and fun for kids, I think ( ... )

"Viz manga never seems to go on sale or show up at the bargain bookstore."
I can't recall seeing any of the Skip Beat! volumes at the local used bookstores, either. Maybe I wasn't paying attention :)
I'm not sure how you feel about Amazon, they have 4-for-3 promotion for Skip Beat! volumes (1-17).
I'm always amused by Kyoko's demons - they are so cute :) It's such an entertaining series. The Viz version is almost catching up with Japanese one - so it's going to be 5 months wait instead of every other months!

Hmmm, yeah, I may have to give in to Amazon's 4-for-3 temptations... (though I prefer to support real stores when I can, sales are hard to resist!!) But if I can catch up slooowly, I won't have to wait 5 whole months for the newest volume! Yay me!

Kyoko's demons, heehee. There's a character in "I Hate You More Than Anyone" with similar spirit-grudge-curse powers. Have you heard of the series?
