Kickball
Last night I sort of on impulse signed up to join a kickball team. I feel like this could be very good (for meeting new people and whatnot) or very bad (since I'd be flaunting my lack of athletic ability). But Carly said it will be good and I joined her team, so I'm thinking more of the former. Plus, we get cool matching headbands now! -

I have alien fingers!
Today at work, we made martian slime (1 cup of water to 2 cups of corn starch). It's pretty cool, when it's on the table, it's liquid, but when you pick it up, it becomes a solid. I"m not quite sure how or why it works, but it's so so so awesome. Anyway, we used some green food coloring in it, and it stained all of our hands, so we pretended to ( Read more... ) -
thinking about my own murder
Often when I walk home from the metro station at night (about half a mile, and 1/2 of that is through this big, empty parking lot), I wonder what would happen if I were to be murdered there. I wonder who would be killing me, what does he do, what's his past like, what's his record like? What would be going through the offender's mind when he offed ( Read more... ) -
I'm not particularly inspired to write, but I suppose I should do an update every so often.
+ I got accepted for this trip to Israel over winter break with a group called Meor Israel. I'll be there for two weeks and it's costing $399. Not bad, eh? We will have classes 3 or 4 days a week, a day trip each day, and lots of free time. tobeginagain, are you still living in Jerusalem? Maybe we can meet up sometime while I'm there ( Read more... ) -

So uhh, Kate's going to Iowa and I'm going to be living by myself for the next two months. While congratulations are in order and all that jazz, what the hell am I going to do, living all the way in freaking Rockville by myself for two months?!

Tonight I saw The Tragically Hip at the 9:30 Club. It was absolutely amazing. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Also, it was like a big "Canadians living in DC" convention. I felt oddly somewhat at-home, even though I'm not a Canuck. -

So I'm in Michigan again. I have another shiva visit to make tonight. It seems as if every time I come back to Michigan, somebody dies. I had phase 1 of my root canal done Friday night. Phase 2 will take place either tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm going kayaking with my dad in a bit. I'm not such a fan of kayaking, but he did buy me a new digital ( Read more... ) -
It started out as a joke!
So our lesson plan for today was supposed to involve Vegemite and Men at Work. Apparently, Vegemite is nearly impossible to find in the states (a lot of stores won't carry it because it's all crap), so we had our kids rock out to the song Down Under and do fingerpainting. -
Poutine
I went shopping at Trader Joe's today and I came across a package of Wisconsin cheese curds. I'm soooo making poutine tonight! If you haven't heard of it, it's french fries with cheese curds and gravy. It's big in Canada. I've never had it before in Canada because gravy is usually made with meat.
