No sir, I don't like it...

I LOVE Lush and am an addict-in-training. However, I don't like everything I've come across in Lush-land...in fact, there are some things I downright loathe!

So, please tell me what your great dislikes are in the Lush product line?

I have a few personal "hates"...one (perhaps two) for sure to be scandalous.

1. Massage Bars (any and all). I don't ( Read more... )

Hee! I was actually in a shop in the UK just now, and they had Jungle soaps shaped like little leaves! They do smell very much like the conditioner, if just a little bit different, due to different necessary ingredients, but the manager told me it's a lovely soap on the hands.

As for my dislikes, I'm afraid it's most of the Vanilla range! I love Sympathy for the Skin and Vanilla in the Mist smells beautiful, but Fountain et al. are just too cloying and sickly for me. :( Similar with the crowd favourite, Snow Fairy! It just doesn't do it for me.

Yes! I have 3 bars of the Jungle soap and really love it-- though I was a little disappointed that the smell doesn't linger on the skin. Still, it makes the whole shower smell of Jungle when I use it: divine!

Yay another jasmine non-fan! I want to like it, but...it's nauseating. I got All That Jasmine once and it was SO UNBELIEVABLY STRONG it stank up the kitchen (I'd moved the box...our bathroom is too small to endure the scent)...I almost threw up every time I walked by. :(

I bet. I wish I liked jasmine just because...well, I don't know.

But...I just don't. I really like Alkmaar and the first time I used it, I guess my nose wasn't working. And I still love it...except for the smell...I wish it smelled differently because it makes my skin feel amaaaazing.

Oh, and another I hated the smell of... Sweet Japanese Girl. Mine smells kind of like vomit. I hold my breath when I use it. :(

Massage Bars (any and all). I don't get them.

It's not complicated: you use them to give massages. They're a handy alternative to having to get different essential oils and mix them with a carrier - they tend to be more portable, and I find them hugely useful if I'm just giving someone a should massage, as if I mix an oil from scratch, it's very difficult to make a small enough amount of oil that everything get used. With the massage bars, there's no wastage.

Oh, I understand how they work and the benefits of less waste...I just don't understand why people love them so much when they make me feel so gross skin-wise and smell-wise. Perhaps an unscented version would be good?

Personally, I've only used Wiccy Magic Muscles and Sore Labours, which are great for sore muscles and joints, especially after a long day of being on my feet. I will note that they do make me a bit greasy, and I have to wash off well afterward, but the warming effects of the bars really help relax my ankles and legs, even in light of my tendinitis and other assorted foot and leg issues. :) It's kind of a trade off - the good is worth the need to wash well afterward.

What do they smell like? Or more to the point: are they heavily scented? I really think it's the cocoa butter smell I can't stand...so something that would overpower that would be a good thing.

Washing afterward? So that would be a good thing to use post-workout, pre-shower rather than an after-shower moisturiser?

Agree with your views on Jungle, I find it so hard to use.

I don't like jasmine. I wish I did but I don't. In small doses I can TOLERATE it, but I won't like the product a lot. I will never ever buy All That Jasmine again. It mellowed once I threw it in the bath (seriously...I used it just to get rid of it because I wasn't about to throw it away...but it was like "This needs to go NOW") but... still ( ... )

I have all of those. :\ Although my seanik is a bit wonky and mushy right now because I think some water got into the tin. And I love them all. But when my hair gets super oily...it's just not enough. Otherwise, I love them all. Just recently got a full size of Big for the first time. I'd used samples before. Lovvve it. Lovvve the smell of Seanik.

My hair's just being weird lately. It's normally not oily like this. I think it's a summer thing, I dunno. I do a lot of theatre so I'm usually messing with my hair a lot so it's NORMALLY on the drier side.

I find Big helps my hair when it's having a super-oily phase. Typically I use it 1-2x a week, but when my hair's having it's "time", I find it helps cut the oil better than anything else. New! is also a good one - the cinnamon helps me!
