Starts out nice - for some reason the use of the word "juicy" has a strangely sensual overtone to it here - but the second paragraph feels pretty disjointed. Possibly because the sentences seem to alternate subject [battle - engineering - battle - engineering, sort of thing].

"Bitter nectar" is a nice phrase, especially relating to the energon mentioned previously. I've never seen anyone suggest energon is anything other than bland or sweet.

I have to wonder what those diagrams look like - are they circuitry or, err, external diagrams?

I'm pretty sure "interface" isn't the right word; ref. "Autobot Run".

Someone needs to write out one of Octopunch's reports, just to see how many the jokes are, how sick and how bad.

All in all, is cool. It starts out with Needlenose feeling sensual and alive, then stumbling over Spinister's "wuh? sex?" moment and continuing on despite the near mood-killer.

If I ever put this anywhere, I'll see about reworking the second paragraph.

I tend to assume that energon runs a flavour gambit. I've used elsewhere the concept of synth - a bitter green fuel additive popular with artists.

At this stage of the relationship? Could be either.

People don't like writing normal reports! Fictional reports...

Yeah. I toyed with the idea that Transformers have a rather different set of taste-senses to humans - a lot of sensitivity to bitter and sharp tastes but no really sense of sweet or salty, sort of thing, never really worked it out. The problem is working out how energon works.

Spinister is slow enough on the uptake to need educational diagrams of what he should be doing? ;)

Depends how they're doing it. Swapping data packets is a bit too generic and interlink sounds like something combiners to.

Writing one of Octopunch's reports might amuse people, since it wouldn't read so much like an actual report.

Until Needlenose kinda jumped on him ... when was it that Needlenose decided he was attracted to Spinister anyhow?

Needlenose likes to fit in, and he can change himself to suit the situation, He does, however, seem to have some inherent bloodlust and desire for power. As a Mayhem, Needlenose gets to indulge that bloodlust, he has power over judging life and death, and he has releative autonomy, comapred to most Decepticons. Needlenose likes who he is as a Mayhem. Spinister supported him as a Mayhem and kept Needlenose from getting killed. Presumably, Spinister was also friendly enough that Needlenose could consider Spinister a friend. So Spinister is the one who made Needlenose who he is now, and Needlenose likes who he is when he's with Spinister
