Reno of course had followed, after all, he had developed somewhat of a bond with the vampire, even if he wasn't about to admit it out loud, any more than Eric would have. Something had disturbed him about Eric taking off, his senses ringing off the hook, and he'd remembered Ciel's advice not to go out, and if you had to do so, to make sure you were armed and preferably accompanied. Which had led to him, as soon as he was mobile enough and strong enough to do so, keeping close tabs on Eric ( ... )

Kiddy cursed under her breath as she drove towards their general direction. She was put on the night shift again and she could really kill something right about then. She got a call this time about a suspicious man heading out of town. Kiddy had only half listened, she knew she was supposed to just be 'checking' on them, but she really felt this was pointless.

She parked just a little ways away from them. She had already figured out about where they were since she could hear them. She thought this suspicious person might be Eric, but somehow she didn't actually expect to find him. She pulled out her gun upon hearing the word monster. She didn't go head first into a fight like she normally would, since all she saw was three men and she knew Eric wasn't the monster, so it had to be one of the other two.

Eric never got a proper goodbye. The man just decided to meet the sun and end his life, and he was not even allowed to join him. Forced away by his master he had to continue on with the only man he had ever felt a sense of caring for, and it ached him as much as he pushed it down under his wit and sarcasm. It was still his maker... and he longed to be by his side once more ( ... )

Reno hit the side of the car hard, but he got back up, even as shaky on he was on his feet, and gave chase once more. "That's the monster." he gestured in the direction of the one that Eric was following and followed after him again. He was more than a little worried about the vampire, something in his heart pulling at him a little. He knew how he'd feel if it had taken the form of someone close to him, and that he'd have a similar amount of difficulty trying to tell real from false, but he didn't want Eric to get himself killed ( ... )

As if Reno had read his thoughts, he looked up at Eric and a slight smile played on his lips. "I did it because I care about you, dork." The words had a sharp tinge to them, but the sparkle in those aqua eyes said there was no malice in them. "I consider you a friend, and I wanna keep you safe, just like you'd wanna do for someone you'd gotten close to." and he let out a soft laugh. "Even if I'm only a meal ticket ( ... )

Kiddy looked at Reno for a long moment. She hadn't felt sorry enough for anything she's done to really have nightmares about, but what happened to her, what WIRE did to her still haunted her dreams. Even thinking about WIRE drove her temper to an extreme. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before she spoke.

"I don't know about forgiveness, but I know what it's like to have something so horrible happen that it stays in your dreams. To tell you the truth, they don't go away for me. I struggle with it every night." She clenches her fist, so tightly if she had been holding anything it would have been crushed. "For me, it doesn't matter that I dream about it, because I have to deal with it while I'm awake too."

"At least you understand that," Eric chimed a bit, patting his head as he ripped open a vein in his wrist, and gave it to Reno to enjoy. He didn't seem to notice the pain, and was calm and cool even as the male sucked off him like a small baby on a bottle. Just as quickly as he had had the wounds, they healed for Reno. "I do not know if my blood could aid you in healing, but... it could help with what happened." That, and he'd be curious to see if he could feel her with that as well. He wasn't, however, going to tell her that.

At least he didn't have to trick her like he did Sookie.

"To be honest, I don't do forgiveness anymore," Eric said back, having calmed since separating from Godric. The shield of asshole came right back real quick, "Nightmares haven't happened in about... five hundred years either. I don't even know if I dream anymore."

"They say th'hardest one to forgive is yourself." Reno sighed, leaning himself back against Eric's chest. "'course it's the way it's always been, no matter where you go, or who you are." He'd noticed that the past couple of days, since he and Eric had begun their odd exchange, that the nightmares had begun to lessen their hold, at least a little, but it was still a good idea to try to forgive himself and he knew it.

The whirlwind of guilt began to be buried under exhaustion, though he knew with the connection that he and Eric had forged through the sharing of blood that none of what he felt needed to be spoken, something he was very thankful for, if only because putting any of it into words was a very difficult thing for him to do.

Of course, the other emotions could be sensed as well, he was sure. Gratitude, liking, among other things.
