“I have one more gift for you. “ William took a small package from under the tree and proudly presented it to Lizzie. “Merry Christmas.”
Lizzie grinned at him as she took the package and opened it to reveal a knitted stuffed turtle. She raised her eyebrow questioningly.
“I recall you telling me how much you loved turtles when you were a child, so I had Gigi show me how to knit you one.”
Lizzie’s eyes grew comically wide. “You knit this?”
“I did.”
“It’s perfect.” Suddenly her arms were around his neck and she was hugging him. “I love it.”
