Cozy on a Rainy day (AoJE | Jane/Rochester | Rated G)

Jane and Rochester were curled up on the couch together. Outside, the rain fell relentlessly, occasionally hitting the window and leaving rivulets of water that trickled downward in lazy patterns which fascinated Jane. Inside, it was warm, cozy, and comfortable, and Jane felt more at ease than she had in weeks. During quiet intervals such as this she felt cherished, loved, and appreciated, her doubts and uncertainties fading away. Here in this moment while he poured over paperwork, and she read her book, they were equals. They were merely two human beings who loved each other, and that was enough.
