Centaur of Controversy
Aside from getting some more supplies back here, not an ordinary day today. It's Official, I'm Crazy
The loneliness is getting to me. I had noticed that Boss doesn't care for cold hands when she's milked, so I took the time this evening to warm them up first, and I could swear, she thanked me! I'm Dr. Harmon dammit, not Dr. Doolittle!

Bad Dog
I think I can add a feral dog to the list of survivors Unfortunately, I can also subtract a rooster and eight hens, including the only two that were brooding so far. To save propane, I haven't used the perimeter lights since the power line went in the storm Tuesday night, but they'll be back on starting tonight until I can get a stronger fence ( Read more... ) -
Two Long Weeks
It's been two weeks since I buried Jamie. The first day after, I just sat around in a daze, waiting for death, but that bastard hasn't sent an invitation, and I'm too proud to go to a party without one.

Endurance
Perhaps I was wrong the other day. Cathy might have had a different reason for leaving. She might have been feeling ill and took off trying to spare us. If so, it didn't work.

Gone
Cathy's gone and her daughter Mary as well. They left in the night, taking one of the vehicles and some food. I suspect either Miguel or Jake approached her last night and frightened her off. I might have done the same except I had noticed how skittish Cathy was. I won't mention my suspicions though. No sense making the culprit feel bad, ( Read more... ) -
Hope
There are only seven of us left here in Saluda, but I'm beginning to have hope again. Since Juanita died 24 hours ago, none of us that remain are showing any signs of the plague. Besides myself and my little Jamie, there are five others.
