I can't let a year go by without taking photos of my favourite flowers: lilacs. Their smell always takes me back to my grandparents' garden. It is a smell that is full of happy memories of my family and it carries a promise of summer. The weather has been less than summery here lately but the lilacs keep me hoping. :)

Two weeks ago I was convalescing from a minor(ish) dental surgery and I couldn't exercise or skate for a couple of days. I used these days to play around with my camera a little in order to document how quickly everything's changing now that it's finally spring. I have been dog-sitting for the past week and a half and it's been a lot of fun! The only downside to it is that I have much less time than I'm used to -- I'm trying to spend all my free time outside with Eda because the weather has been extremely nice and warm lately and it'd be a shame not to. Two weeks ago I went to Prague for a Lord of the Rings prom. It was just as fabulous as I'd thought it would be. I had serious chills during the whole performance, it was incredible. The whole trip began on Friday evening.

It still hasn't stopped raining and the situation is getting worse. My sister was told not to go to work this morning (she'd have to swim there so yeah) so she and her boyfriend and Eda are safe, warm and dry in their little flat on the hill. It's not as bad as it was in 2002 but it's getting there, unfortunately. I am safe and unaffected, for now. My sister and her boyfriend are in Prague and it's getting really bad there but they're safe, too. The photos & videos coming in are horrifying, though.
